Trailers & Screenshots For Triple Threat
Sony came to Gamescom 2012 with three new PS3 games to show off: Until Dawn, Puppeteer and the heavily-rumoured Rain.
UPDATE: Have some trailers and screenshots.
The first new face is a quirky schlock-horror title from Supermassive Games. Like the best teen horror films, Until Dawn will throw a group of seven highly-sexed teenagers into a remote house in the middle of dark and scary woods, with the simple objective being to survive until the sun comes up. Alongside a "gripping narrative," Until Dawn will also feature PlayStation Move controls that should provide an increased sense of immersion. We'll be able to use the peripheral to move around with the environment, interact with the scenery, hold a torch or slash with a knife.
Sony Japan Studios came out swinging with Rain: a PSN exclusive that has been churning up the rumour mill recently. This moody and mournful game is definitely on the artsy side, starring an invisible man who can only be seen by the constant rainfall picking out his silhouette. Precipitation will be more than an aesthetic feature, and can be used to manipulate the environment.
Puppeteer takes place in a magical theatre, with the world moving around players and the action taking place on the same stage. It's apparently packed with all manner of "weird and wild situations," after a young boy is transformed into a puppet by an evil king and sets out to acquire a pair of magical scissors to cut his strings.
Matt and Brendan are on base and will investigate these three new titles over the next few days.
