Remember the Sony S1 and S2 Android tablets that we brought to your attention back in April? After a few months of radio silence, Sony has finally given us some solid info about their release schedule and pricing structure - as well as confirmation that they're "Playstation Certified." Which means (if you don't already know) that you can legally download and play PSX games from the online marketplace. More details below.
The S1 tab has been renamed "Tablet S," and will be hitting US stores this month for $500 RRP. It's a traditional tab with a focus on "rich media entertainment," apparently. Which, we assume, means playing plenty of Final Fantasy Tactics on the train. The September release date ties in with rumours of a similarly-timed UK release.
The bizarre clamshell S2 has also been rebranded... to "Tablet P". There's a joke in there somewhere. Regardless, this odd device with an "off-centre of gravity" will go on sale in November, price TBA.
Mobot, our mobile sister blog, will doubtlessly be combing the interwebs for more details. From their smartphones, probably.
