After the lacklustre Resistance: Burning Skies released on PS Vita last month, Sony may be calling time on Insomniac's FPS series.
Speaking to OPM UK as part of a wider interview, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Online producer Daniel Brooke stated that they have no firm plans about the Resistance series' future.
"The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future we have no definitive plans.”
Insomniac left the Resistance franchise in Sony hands after signing a multiplatform deal with EA last year, which resulted in the mechanically solid but underwhelming Vita prequel Resistance: Burning Skies from Nihilistic Software. Carl believes that the portable FPS was "pushed out the door before it was ready," resulting in a 6/10 score. Without Insomniac around to keep Resistance in-house, it's clear that Sony are wondering whether the series has any tales left to tell.
