Phil Spencer, the newly-crowned King of Xbox, has kicked off the pre-E3 banter with a show of respect for their longtime rival Sony.
As per usual, Spencer took to Twitter to address a few fan comments.
@XBX1GameInsider I don't think Sony is intimidated. Sony is great brand and strong team. Competition is good, they'll have a good E3.

Class act. However, Microsoft will have to deliver a seriously impressive E3 presentation to cement some massive reveals over the last few weeks, including the removal of Kinect from the ecosystem and purging of several policies that were implemented under Mattrick's regime. "There is a renewed sense of belief we are on a good path here," Spencer continued, "good vibe in the halls."
What we don't want from E3 is a pathetic focus on TV and entertainment -- we've done that now -- yet a certain analyst has prophesied just that. You know the one. The one who has delusions of being an industry celebrity. "Ahh that guy, he's a friend," bantered Spencer. "I'll see him after our briefing, we'll see if our show matches his predictions."
So will we - and our predictions will follow later today. E3 2014 deserves to be one of the biggest yet now the focus switches from new hardware to new games, and all the major players will need to deliver.
