Sony Offering Another Free Game For PSN Woes

PSN's rather shaky re-emergence hasn't exactly soothed all of its worried consumers yet,  but Sony have been quick to throw another free game into the conciliatory swag pile. They've teamed up with System 3 to offer James Pond 2:  Codename Robocod to PS+ subscribers for the bargain price of absolutely nothing. Since everyone is currently a Playstation Plus subscriber, you should probably go ahead and download this PSOne "classic." As I understand it, you'll get to keep any of the free stuff once the temporary subscription lapses - but access to the title may be locked after the 30 day period expires.

Sony's PlayStation Network was brought down by hackers and the online store has remained down for a total of 43 days while Sony puts tight security measures in place to prevent something like this happening again. Now that the PlayStation Store is back up we thought it would nice to give everyone something special. Think of it as a little present from us to you. - System 3

Nice one, chaps. [System 3]

"you’ll get to keep any of the free stuff once the temporary subscription lapses"

Does this include Burnout Paradise? Fingers crossed...

You'll get to keep the content, but I suspect that access will be locked to those who don't renew after thirty days. This is definitely the case for Burnout Paradise.

From what I remember, regarging PS Plus. Games expire with membership, game add-ons (think extra costumes etc) stay, items purchased at a discount with membership reamin after it expires with no extra cost. So it might be worth a look around the store to see what you can grab on the cheap.

I also hear we can have Streets of Rage 2 for free (for 30 days at least). Got it on MD collection, but I'm all about the extra Trophies.

Yes, it's on the store now in Europe, UK and USA. Think China is incoming
