Just a quick PSA for you MMO players: Sony Online Entertainment has announced that their servers are back online. This means that the likes of DC Universe Online, Everquest and Free Realms are now playable again - and you can hurry back to your (much better) virtual worlds after being stuck in this mediocre real one for so long.
In a press release, SOE thank users for their patience and clarify that each game will carry its own "Welcome Back Program" that will include extra subscription time and extra swag. Oh, and don't forget to change your password.
We are pleased to be back online and deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent data breach and subsequent outage.
To thank you all for your patience and understanding, we have prepared a Welcome Back Program that includes complimentary identity theft protection, free game time and special in-game items and events.
Reminder: As an added security measure, we require a password reset for your Station Account - we recommend you do this immediately.
We could take a dig at how long it's been. We could cast an unwary glance at the horizon. But for now, we're just immensely glad things are getting back to normal.
