Sony PSP Go £199.97 Pre-Order @ Tesco Direct [PSP Games]

Sony PSP Go £199.97 Pre Order @ Tesco Direct [PSP Games]A great deal here for anyone looking to invest in a PSP GO. Tesco are offering customers the opportunity to pre-order one of PlayStation’s latest hand held gaming devices for £199.97. This gives you a great saving, as according to Hotukdeals you’d be hard pressed to find a pre-order price below £230 – with Play.com currently charging £250.

However, the PSP GO has caused a fair amount controversy. Unlike the original PSP, the GO has no UMD drive meaning that all games will now be digitally downloaded. Many owners of the original PSP are annoyed by the fact that PlayStation have not yet revealed whether old PSP games will be transferable onto the GO. Although there are rumours that Playstation are looking for some way round this problem, nothing has yet been confirmed.

In terms of its form, the PSP is dubbed to be more streamlined than its predecessor. The console is 43% lighter than the PSP 3000 and has a 3.8 inch screen which slides up similar to the Sony Mylo. At a recent press conference, Sony confirmed that some of their most popular game franchises including Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid will all be released in the new PSP format.

However to buy these, customers will now have to take their console into game stores and purchase a direct download. This has fuelled speculation that the company are intending phase out UMDs altogether, more or less forcing PSP owners to upgrade. Although this deal certainly offers a very competitive price for the GO, the console’s overall value for money continues to be debated.

Who? Playstation? The product has not revealed? Not really a surprise there is it.

Surely you mean Sony has not yet revealed.
