The Tokyo Game Show is about to kick off, but you can always rely on Sony to turn up to the party early. They've been busy this morning; dropping a slew of major announcements including a Japanese release date for Bloodborne, a new platform for Persona 5, a new Resident Evil and absolutely no new details about The Last Guardian.

You can watch the press conference above, but I've rounded up the biggest headlines and trailers for your convenience.

Bloodborne: New Trailer & Release Date

Bloodborne is already looking seriously tasty, not to mention playing brilliantly, ahead of its launch next year. Let's face it: you're excited. As such, feast your eyes on this brand new Japanese trailer, which proudly proclaims a February 5th release date.

Japanese release date, I should stress. It's likely that Bloodborne will be somewhat delayed in Europe to give The Order: 1886 time to breathe, but we probably won't have to wait too long.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Announced!

As a big fan of the original Resident Evil Revelations, I'm pleased to hear that Capcom are working on a sequel to the atmospheric survival horror title. Billed for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, it promises to star an entirely new cast and setting.

Persona 5 is coming to PS4!

Originally revealed as a PS3 exclusive, the next numbered Persona title will also be coming to PS4 next year.

Personally I'm holding out for a Vita version, but I'll cave. I always cave for Persona.

Dragon Quest... Warriors?!

We don't get anywhere near enough Dragon Quest over here in Europe, especially since the franchise jumped to Nintendo platforms. However, Square Enix are apparently bringing the series back to PlayStation by way of Dragon Quest Heroes, which probably ought to be called Dragon Quest Warriors.

Seeing as it's a hack & slash brawler developed by Omega Force, the deeply inconsistent team behind gems like One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 and currently hard at work on Hyrule Warriors. Naturally there's no talk of a Western release date, and I wouldn't hold your breath.

The Last Guardian MIA Again

Still, all hope is not lost. Sony are holding another TGS press conference on September 17th, so maybe, just maybe...

...nope. I can't do it.
