Today, LucasArts and Microsoft announced something very special! No, it's not another ridiculously priced, super duper edition of Star Wars: The Old Republic, it is in fact an Xbox 360 console and controller that have been designed to look like R2-D2 and C3PO respectively, to celebrate the release of Kinect Star Wars.
Now I'm not one to get excited about a special edition console, usually I couldn't care less about how they look, I just want them to play my games, however I've got to admit that I'd probably consider trading my current 360 in for this one, because it'd be quite amusing to hear it whistling like everyone's favourite quirky little astrometric droid every time I powered it on, or opened and closed the disc tray.
Of course Kinect Star Wars is also included in the bundle, which'll be out to coincide with the game's release right at the end of the year, however it is available to pre-order beforehand. You're also looking at spending about £276 ($449.99) to get your hands on it.
The full contents of the bundle are listed below:
- Kinect Star Wars Game
- Custom R2-D2 themed Xbox 360 console with custom sounds (Power on and opening / closing the disc tray)
- White Kinect Sensor
- Custom C-3PO themed Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
- 320 GB Hard Drive
- Xbox 360 Wired Headset
- Kinect Adventures Game
- Exclusive downloadable content
This should be hard for any Star Wars fan to resist and it's also a good excuse to make a transition into the Xbox world if you're currently playing on another console. Lets just hope that Kinect Star Wars is equally special! [vg247]
