Tozai Games has dropped us a line to announce that Spelunker HD, the "devious" reimagining of the classic 1983 platformer, will launch tomorrow on the Playstation Network. It's set to boast a neat retro art style, 100 levels and a level of challenge so ridiculous that most players will apparently rip out their hair in desperation. We've got the full details , pricing info and a trailer after the break.
Spelunker HD will launch this Wednesday, August 10th, on the European PlayStation®Network. It will contain "all the fun and teeth-grinding challenge of the original," as well as new 3D graphics (complimented by an optional retro graphic set), 100 freshly designed levels, and both co-op and competitive multiplayer modes for up to six players. Additionally, SCEE and SCEA players will have shared leaderboards and the ability to play together online.
And die together, if Tozai are to be believed about the difficulty. The original game was hard as nails, and Spelunker HD promises to deliver the same level of challenge.
Kindly remove any fine china from your gaming room and stock the fridge with a week’s worth of food before getting started – it’s a looong way down.
