SEGA have announced a new title for their upcoming roster, with Spiral Knights in developments at Three Rings, who aim to deliver a "console-style adventure" with "vibrant graphics" in a free-to-play, persistent online world. So far, Spiral Knights looks set to be a PC exclusive, and no release date has been confirmed as of yet.
In Spiral Knights, a band of cybernetic warriors crash-land on Cradle, an alien world teeming with hostile life. Their vessel, the Skylark, cannot be repaired, so the team must venture across - and even inside - the planet to find a means to escape. A variety of environments are promised, from rural mining outpost Haven, to the deep and mysterious Clockworks, located under Cradle's core.
Spiral Knights allows up to four players to embark on an epic adventure together. You can begin and join guilds, trade resources like weapons and treasure, and all the usual RPG holdovers like crafting and customizing your amassed loot. We'll be keeping a close eye on Spiral Knights as it nears release, hopefully towards the end of the year. [Spiral Knights]
