Splinter Cell: Blacklist Gets First Shots

Well Splinter Cell: Blacklist is definitely a thing, as a barrage of screenshots have emerged, via Gamekyo.

Bizarrely, nearly all of them appear to feature a Middle East setting, with Sam taking down terrorists in the blazing sun. Why he'd need his goggles for seeing properly in the blazing sun is beyond us. Frankly what a supposedly retired, unhinged stealth merchant is even doing strutting around in the blazing sun is somewhat beyond our comprehension.

He's also clearly been using Rogaine, as he has a full head of hair. Or, you know, this game just ignores Conviction.

As long as Ironside is still there we reckon it'll all be fine. Expect more on this in Ubisoft's presser later tonight.

I really liked Conviction but these screenshots just look like Ghost Battlefield of Duty.

Jings - seems all I do these days is moan about franchises potentially losing their way.

There is nothing wrong with being attached to franchises. I have spent hundreds of hours playing SC and I would hate it if they did it a massive disservice - but it's hard to tell from images, video or even reviews really. What one man hates another loves.

As always, lets just hope they haven't destroyed something awesome.

Having seen the trailer now I'm feeling a lot happier about this - looks like a slight change of theme/setting but the gameplay remains the same (as Conviction).
