Sam Fisher returns in blistering form in this latest addition to the Splinter Cell family which Shop To are offering for just £23.75.
Zavvi currently have the game as their Deal of the Day at a price of £23.95, so if, for some reason, you are not a Shop To fan, then you can still grab it for less than £24. After this the prices leap up by at least an extra £3.

Upon the discovery of a series of betrayals, including one involving his dead daughter, Sam Fisher is pissed, to the extent that he blows away his usual ultra stealthy, invisible man persona to become a raging assassin of fury. This changes the game from being one entirely about sneaking into one in which you have the option to sneak, should you wish to do so. A switch from Pure Stealth to Stealth/Action game if you will.
Of course there are those who see this approach as nothing more than a "dumbing down" of the gameplay of old. However, while it may sound that way on paper, it certainly doesn't feel it when you actually sit down to play. While you can choose to forego a lot of the sneaking, you will find that you won't want to because swooping in from the shadows to execute the perfect kill is just so damn fun.
The multiplayer is excellent, with a co op mode that gets its own narrative and maps of equal, if not perhaps even better, quality as the single player campaign. And if you prefer snuggling up on the sofa to hooking up over XBox Live then you'll be pleased to hear that there's splitscreen play available.
It's a shame that the main campaign is so short and offers few genuinely tricky moments, and the stripping down of the stealth options will seem a damn shame to many but overall Ubisoft have really hit the nail on the head this time.
