Includes Beans, Lots Of Beans
A lot of progress has been made in the run up to DayZ’s standalone release, and to demonstrate some of the new features that will be included, creator Dean “Rocket” Hall and operations manager Matt Lightfoot have posted a new Dev Blog on YouTube. Among the features shown off were the new main menu, improved character modals and clothing, swamp environments, a new island, and the loot spawning mechanics. See it for yourself after the jump.
Apart from the obvious graphical upgrade, the new features certainly look like they will make DayZ a more approachable (although still utterly perilous) prospect upon its promotion from Arma II mod to a standalone product. With many more features to be unveiled, including the inventory system, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as new details emerge.
