After weeks of anticipation, Chris Roberts has finally unveiled his next project, titled Star Citizen. Although it will be a Space Combat game at its core, the entire experience at a whole has a lot more than meets the eye, including a persistent online universe for players to traverse as well as a traditional Single Player campaign called Squadron 42.
Developed by Roberts’ new company Cloud Imperium, Star Citizen aims to push current PC hardware to its limits with huge amounts of detail, allowing players to pilot fighters and capital ships, as well as walk around them in either first or third person. Also announced was that the game would be doing its own crowd-funding initiative for the community to get involved in, which can be accessed by heading over to the Roberts Space Industries website.
We’ll have a round-up of all the information from today’s reveal coming soon, but in the meantime you can put some screenshots in your face, which have been confirmed as in-game, after the jump.
