Star Citizen Jumps Onto Kickstarter

Crowd-Funding Effort Over $1 Million Already

After a few setbacks with their own crowd funding system from the start, thanks to millions of hits bringing the official website offline, Chris Roberts announced last night that Star Citizen, the upcoming Space Sim from developers Cloud Imperium, is now available on Kickstarter. This comes after the main crowd-funding effort on the RSI website has reached the halfway point in its $2 million target with 21 days to go, and the Kickstarter has already hit $100,000 of its $500,000 target within hours of its launch. You can see the announcement video by Chris Roberts after the jump.

Those you that want to get involved can either head to the Kickstarter page or can still head over to the RSI website to help fund Star Citizen. If you have no idea what Star Citizen is, you should probably go and rectify that mistake by heading to our round-up here, and then go donate. GO DONAT-[Alright, that’s enough Carl –Ed.]
