It's What Bioware Is "Looking At Next"
Star Wars The Old Republic is finally available, with PC players across the globe currently exploring the vast universe Bioware has crafted - when they're not waiting in hours-long queues. However, while Windows users have been swinging custom lightsabers and casting Force lightning, Mac owners have - as usual - been twiddling their toes, awaiting word from Bioware on a port. Well, said word has arrived, but it's not quite good news; nor bad, admittedly.
"I'd say 'not yet," Greg Zeschuk, Bioware co-founder, told Joystiq when questioned on a Mac release. Admittedly, Apple's platform isn't quite the most profitable, with the vast majority of computer gamers residing on Windows. But there's undoubtedly an audience, and they deserve recognition. "We've done a lot of Mac ports before of our games," Zeschuk went on to explain. "We haven't announced any details yet for The Old Republic, but we know that's an important and large audience."
However, while he did confirm the platform's importance, Zeschuk was cautious to associate that with a clear release date. "That's definitely one of the things we're looking at next," he said. "We want to get this launch under our belt and everything stabilized and happy, and then we'll look at other platforms, and that's obviously one of the first ones." [Joystiq]
