Sony has announced that a Starhawk Public Beta will begin this coming Wednesday, January 18th for PlayStation Plus Subscribers. LightBox Interactive will be using the opportunity to sort out "game balance, server traffic and general bugs," as well as showing off their project to a wider audience. It's looking very tasty indeed.
Not a PS Plus subscriber? Don't fret. Uncharted 3 owners who have redeemed a valid online pass will gain access to the beta on February 1st, though you'll need to opt into receiving marketing emails for details (yay). Otherwise, the beta will become freely available to all on February 22nd.
As if you didn't know Starhawk was going to be suitably epic in scope and scale, Sony have released a trailer at TGS proving just that. The showoffs! Showcasing what we believe is a multiplayer match in full swing, it has two sides battling for supremacy of what looks like an intergalactic oil rig mining Rift Energy from an asteroid, until those pesky Outcast arrive. It's huge, it's epic, it looks a blast.Hit the jump for the trailer
