Before I begin, I would like to apologise profusely for thinking that yesterday's deals were the last that Steam has to offer-- I am officially picking the humble pie for my dinner.
Now may I present today's offerings and the best available prices for their boxed counterparts:
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition - £1.74
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - £7.99 (£26.99 @ Everything Play)
Section 8 - £14.99 (£12.73 @ The Hut)
Evil Genius - £1.74 (£7.99 @ Amazon)
Mirror's Edge - £3.24 (£6.49 @ Cool Shop)
Quantz - £2.00
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - £24.49 (£14.73 @ The Hut)
For the final day of the offer (and it really is the last day this time!), this bunch looks like pretty slim pickings to me. It's a shame to see that two of the games on offer are available elsewhere for considerably less and that the best saving is for the frankly not very exciting Chronicles of Riddick. However, there are a couple of little gems here, available at pocket money prices, so my picks of today's bunch are The Secret of Monkey Island and Quantz.
Although I have not been able to track down any other copies of The Secret of Monkey Island with which to make a price comparison, it doesn't take a genius to realise that the game is a steal at this price. This remake of the original game is absurdly faithful to its source material which even offers you the ability to switch seamlessly between the new updated graphics and the original visuals. This is a brilliant adventure, well worth taking if you are not daunted by the occasional head-scratcher of a puzzle.
Quantz is a surprisingly addictive and satisfying little game, as Marius discovered when he reviewed it for dealspwn, and well worth the miniscule price that Steam are asking.
