Steam Preorder: Bioshock 2 and Bioshock £26.99 (4 Pack - £80.97) @ Steam Store [PC Games]

Bioshock 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the year and it looks like Steam is powering ahead with a rocking deal to get things started. You can get the game itself on pre-order for cheaper elsewhere but when you consider the fact that this deal includes a free copy of the original, it’s a neat bargain.

Add to that, if you invest in the bumper deal of £80.97 for four copies of Bioshock 2 (including four free copies of Bioshock) then you make an even bigger saving. This is definitely worth a look if you know four people that are keen to get the title, just share the cost between you and reap the rewards.

If, however, you are one of those unfortunates who didn’t get to play the original and are now desperately keen to see what all the fuss is about,  then this is your happy chance. Preorder the game, play Bioshock and have many happy nights exploring Rapture and following the admittedly intense story right from the start.

For those of you who have a) been living a nomadic life in the Amazon Jungle, b) only just allowed to use a computer or c) think a PC is a term for speaking politely, I will tell you about Bioshock 2. This is an extremely, very awesome series that looks at life in an underground city that has become corrupt and nasty. In this, the sequel, you return to Rapture (this aforementioned city) to shoot things. It is very nice.

Awesome deal. Awesome game (I hope). Get shopping.

There’s also some fun DRM. Online verification via SecuRom, with an install limit (15 machines, admittedly). To save the game or play online, you need to be logged into Games for Window Live. This still applies on Steam – so SecuRom and Games For Windows Live are needed in addition to the Steam client. Hmm.

Yeah...I hated the DRM on the original Bioshock and made the mistake of buying it second hand. It was such a hassle that I just went out and bought it again for the 360.
