It's day three of the Steam Summer Sale... and there's another smorgasbord of time-sensitive offers for your consideration and delectation. There are some serious standout savings to be made today- and we've shone the spotlight on three of the best.
These deals will expire at around 6 this afternoon- so if you can peel yourself away from the pre-match commentary, now's the time to get involved!
Okay, this is a serious bit of dealage right here. Considering that the cheapest physical copy of Valve's dynamic cooperative zombie-butchering thrill ride is currently £14.95 at DVD.co.uk, this is an enormous saving on an excellent game. Basically, if you're a fan of frantic shooters and haven't yet picked up L4D2... do it now.
Once again, Steam wins out over physical media by an enormous margin. Whilst you can't trade it in or flip through the manual, you'll also save £12 compared to Coolshop (the nearest price rival). Force Unleashed was criticized by many for cutting a few game design corners... but then again, you can throw Stormtroopers around like dolls and lob dozens of Wookies off a bridge. Which is worth the price of admission in my book.
Zeno Clash may only be £2 cheaper than the nearest competitor (GAME, in this case), but since it's the same price as a central London pint then it's well worth bringing up. It's a Source Engine-powered first person Indie brawler with dreamlike visuals and a dark, twisted storyline... and is quite unlike anything else out there. Whilst our full review only covers the revamped XBLA version, it'll give you some idea of what you're up against. Occasionally wonky collision detection and a truly woeful voice actor dulls the shine, but Zeno Clash is definitely worth a punt at this price.
