If, like me, you spent most of the Easter weekend stuffing your face with chocolatey goodness and are now afraid to leave the house for fear of oversized name calling, you might be interested to know that as part of their upcoming weekend deal, Steam are letting PC gamers get a feel for Modern Warfare 2's widely-lauded multiplayer absolutely free of charge. Quite why you'd want to play this game on your PC is a little beyond me considering the plethora of controversies surrounding it since release, but then again I was a PC gamer too once upon a time before I was dragged kicking and screaming across to the other side.
The free taster will start tomorrow - although in this country that could mean anything as Steam's conception of time appears to be backwards to say the least - but you can start the preload by hitting the link below.
Expect a shedload of bangs, bullets and boomsticks, an excellent RPG-style experience system that you'll probably not have time to fully appreciate this weekend but might well suck you in for the long haul, a barnstorming bunch of game modes - Free-For-All, Search & Destroy, Domination, Sabotage, Demolition, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag - and a pretty welcoming community, more so than with Halo at any rate.
Ignore whatever you've heard, if you find yourself bored and in front of a computer this weekend and have yet to take Infinity Ward's magnum opus for a spin, I suggest you get on board for a couple of days and have yourself a blast.
