Metro 2033 was a title that stood out from the crowd thanks to its immersive and gritty environments, but very rarely could you accuse it of being a pretty game. Ukrainian development studio 4A Studios are clearly looking to address that with Metro: Last Light, some screenshots of which have been released for us to feast our eyes on, and it's looking lovely.
Originally titled 'Metro 2034', the sequel to underground (pun absolutely intended) hit Metro 2033 is looking to "set a new graphical benchmark on both console and PC"; quite the claim, but the company are backing it up with a reimagining of their original world that's as polished as it is faithful.
Multiplayer will be included in Last Light, with players able to "wage post-apocalyptic war amongst the dark Russian ruins", but 4A have kept quiet on any specifics. The game is scheduled for a 2012 release, but we expect something more concrete to be announced in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more as we get it on this pretty little underdog.
