Grasshopper Manufacture Head Confident Of Eventual Success
The Xbox 360 has not enjoyed the level of success that its competitors have enjoyed, but in an interview with NowGamer Japanese developer Goichi Suda, known to many as Suda51, spoke of his hope that the Xbox brand, including the upcoming Xbox One, would eventually enjoy higher levels of success.... eventually.
Of course, even Suda51 acknowledges that Microsoft’s battleplan for their upcoming console is difficult to ascertain, which is understandable considering Xbox Live will not be supported in his native country at the launch of the Xbox One.
“We really haven’t received immense support for Xbox One in Japan as of yet, so I don’t know what their plans are. Whatever everyone else knows right now is what we know.”
Despite the confusion, the Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows Of The Damned creator did go on to voice his optimism for the platform into the future.
"That being said, Windows and a lot other Microsoft products have a track record of being successful in Japan, so I think it’s matter of time or some kind of hook that will let the Xbox explode or shine in Japan. But what or when that is, is still kind of up in the air."
While there will no doubt be many who question whether the Xbox One will be able to crack the Japanese gaming market, Microsoft will surely be happy to hear one of Japan’s more well-known developers proclaiming their support, even if by their own admission they don’t know what the battleplan is just yet.
