The Wii may have come under fire for failing to provide mature titles for seasoned gamers, but its riotous local multiplayer is second to none when you're looking for good, honest fun (as well as a cheap laugh or two). Chief amongst its impressive lineup of immediate casual titles is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the critically acclaimed beat-em-up that pits Nintendo's beloved characters against each other in a brutal bloodsport for our amusement.
Short-lived deals frequently pop up from time to time, but Tesco are currently offering Brawl at the bargain price of £9, which is at least £5 cheaper than any other merchant we can find for this title at the moment.
Brawl expands on the roster, graphics, controls and features of its much-loved predecessor as well as throwing an online multiplayer mode into the mix. It's not a perfect game by any means, and it's fairly shallow gameplay means that it probably won't appeal to hardcore fighting fans, but the sheer lunacy and frenetic, furious fun to be had here is immense.
Essentially a quirky four player fighting game that allows you to smack ten tons of hell out of Kirby and wipe the moustache off of Mario's face, Nintendo provides a lineup of all of their most famous (and a few obscure) mascots for your brawling pleasure. It's not so great by yourself, but get a bunch of mates round and this game becomes a real party piece. Put simply, this is a perfect opportunity to grab yourself one of the Wii's killer apps at a knockdown price!
