For almost a decade the Super Smash Bros. series has been settling playground disputes over who’d win in a fight between Mario and Link, or Diddy-Kong and Pikachu etc, by allowing players to assume their favourite Nintendo characters and beat the hell out of their opponent’s. The franchise might have paced itself with some three editions appearing over the last nine years or so, but Super Smash Bros. has carved out a great reputation for itself as one of the most entertaining titles produced by Nintendo. Even to this day, the original maintains a devoted - almost fanatical – following.
However, if you’re interested in getting your hands on the latest offering, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it’s currently going for £9.89 at Simplygames. This is great deal which beats the next best price by a whopping £10.10 according to price comparison.
Packed full of different stages, trophies, unlockable characters and a massive single player adventure, it’s clear that Nintendo are aiming to get as much longevity out of Brawl as they did from its predecessors.
It contains an impressive roaster of 35 Nintendo characters, tons of customization options and game modes, and offers an almost seamless multiplayer experience. Some do complain that Brawl suffers from irritatingly long load times and that despite being consistent on the whole; multiplayer can suffer from random disconnections. But overall, with its simple and highly accessible gameplay, Brawl will obsess both newcomers and long-term veterans of the series alike.
