Paradox Interactive and Battlegoat have joined forces to bring out Supreme Ruler: Cold War, a global strategy sim set in the age of the iron curtain and the very real threat of mutually assured destruction. It's hit the virtual marketplaces today - and in case you were wondering what being a Supreme Ruler involves, we've got a gameplay trailer and more details after the break.
Supreme Ruler: Cold War builds on the existing Supreme Ruler games to offer a tense and involved grand strategy simulation chronicling the years following World War Two. The free nations of the world are forced to choose between two camps; with those who stand for democracy joining N.A.T.O. while Communist states side with the U.S.S.R.
As crisis after crisis leads to an escalation in the proliferation of nuclear weapons, it can only be a matter of time before one side pushes 'The Button', and fulfils the terrifying promise of M.A.D – Mutually Assured Destruction.
Chilling stuff. We've got a full review in the pipeline, but for now, why not check out the new gameplay trailer?
