Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Achivements Leak Online

Likely To Be An XBLA Spin-Off

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has been churning around the rumour mill for a few months, and Exophase have managed to get their hands on an achievement list for the mysterious property. Since there's 400G up for grabs (the traditional amount for an XBLA game), this is likely to be a downloadable spinoff rather than a beefy expansion - tying in with some box art dredged up earlier this year.

So we're in the bizarre position of having to issue a spoiler alert for a game that hasn't even been announced yet. Ubisoft are bound to announce something soon, so watch this space.

Spoilery Dead Space 3 Achievements Hit The Net

Dead Space 3's achievements have made their way onto the internet, featuring arbitrary numerical rewards for storyline progression, cooperative feats and various (gory) weapon-related shenanigans. Oh, and Peng's back. The list includes story-related achievement descriptions, so spoiler alert.

We were equally impressed and concerned by Dead Space 3 when we saw it in action at E3 2012. Game's out on February 5th, with pre-order customers netting a Limited Edition that includes some extra DLC content.

Halo 4: Crimson Map Pack Achievements Encourage Insane Stunts

Halo 4's first DLC map pack will encourage players to perform all manner of ridiculous shenanigans if its achievements are anything to go by. The Crimson pack is out on November 10th, offering three new maps and the new Extraction gametype.

Halo 4 managed to narrowly edge out Far Cry 3 in our most fiercely-debated Game Of The Month nominations to date, mainly due to its fiercely addictive multiplayer and weekly Spartan Ops campaign drops that's become a Monday ritual for us editors.

5th Cell: Wii U Has "No System-Wide" Accomplishments System

5th Cell’s creative director and co-founder Jeremiah Slaczka has shed a little light on the matter of whether or not the Wii U will have some form of universal accomplishment system to rival Achievements and Trophies on the Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively.

The general message? Don't get your hopes up.

Dishonored Has A Pacifist Achievement

The full list of Dishonored achievements and trophies has hit the net courtesy of X360A, and you can check it out through the link. Beware: potential spoilers abound.

There are naturally plenty of rewards for killing enemies in creative ways, but by far the most exciting achievement is a whopping 100G awarded for completing the game "without killing anyone." Gameplay choice is woven into Dishonored's DNA, and it's great to see yet another potential gameplay style supported by Arkane's anticipated First Person Stabber.

Dishonored releases next week, and you can get a taste of its freeform approach to assassination in the new interactive trailer.

MyAchievements Birthday Gift Revealed: 20 Microsoft Points

Oh dear. Microsoft's mysterious birthday gift for Xbox Live Reward subscribers has been outed as a staggeringly generous twenty Microsoft Points. Which won't buy you anything save the odd gamer picture, unless you manage to save up four years' worth for an indie game or cheap avatar item. [NeoGAF]

MyAchievement awards were recently introduced, providing a small rebate for players who beat certain Gamerscore thresholds. Personally, we feel that the opportunity for themed avatar gear and bigger Gamerscore tiers was sadly missed, but it's always nice to get something for nothing.

Unlocking achievements and gaining Gamerscore may be an addictive if ultimately pointless diversion for many players, but dedicated achievement hunters will now get some tangible benefits in the form of an ongoing Microsoft Points rebate and special gift. Halo 4 Achievements Revealed

Forward Unto Spoilers

343 Industries has released the full list of Halo 4 achievements, which include a range of singleplayer, cooperative, multiplayer and Spartan Ops rewards (not to mention some Red vs Blue easter eggs). "Our primary goal when creating Halo 4's achievements was to reward milestones and increase replay value while balancing both difficulty and the breadth of game modes," said community manager Jessica Shea on Halo Waypoint. "Our secondary goal was to live up to Halo tradition with weird ass names for some of them (hello, The Dongblainer!). While you will only be able to speculate on the exact nature of some of these achievements, here's a peek at their very basic in-game descriptions."

As you'd expect, some light spoilers follow.

Report: XBLA Achievement Cap Set To Double?

X360A has received an unverified scoop from a Microsoft source regarding their achievement policy for Xbox Live Arcade games. Traditionally, XBLA titles have had a Gamerscore cap of 200, but this may be set to double to 400 according to the report. The maximum number of achievements per game would also increase from 20 to 30.

DLC packs may also receive a more generous achievement/gamerscore allowance. According to the report, the current total limit of 250 extra gamerscore is set to increase to 800, allowing developers to offer more arbitrary numerical rewards post-release.

If true, this new policy is set to come into effect from June 1st. Many gamers won't care one way or the other, but achievement hunters are bound to be excited by the news.

Clues Us In On Desmond's Plight

Assassin's Creed Revelations is just a month away now, with Ubisoft closing the proverbial door on Ezio and Desmond once and for all in a climactic finish spanning decades worth of conflict. It's actually quite sad to think we're nearing the end of Ezio's journey. The smooth-talking assassin is one of the finest protagonists ever crafted by Ubisoft, and we've shaped his life from a cocksure teen to a battle-hardened leader of men, tracing every step and severed artery along the way. If you're eager to find out clues about Ezio's last adventure ahead of schedule, Revelations' list of Achievements have once again been outed by Xbox360Achievements. Beware, it's spoiler-ridden and gives us a couple of big clues as to what direction the story takes, especially for Desmond.
