Battlefield 4 is still an epic shooter and only £8.54 on PS4

Battlefield 4 had a rough start, but after extensive patch fixes it's a formidable shooter in the online arena. £8.54 is an outstanding price and I'd recommend these large scale battles over Hardline's more cramped shoot outs.

Post patches, Battlefield 4 stands tall as one of the finest multiplayer experience around. The battlefields are huge and the vehicles add a fun element that makes the series stand out from the crowd. Choppers, tanks, ATVs, boats and jeeps are all available. Although if you're ever playing with me, never get in the chopper if I'm flying it - we're going down upside down into the sea within seconds! Take a look at my PS4 review here. The newer Hardline, has a much better campaign mode and some fun multiplayer, but B4's epic scale of warfare makes it the clear winner for multiplayer fans.

Still not ready to jump into the current gen, but want some FPS action to tide you over? There's not much arguing with the value of this one at this price, really, even if the multiplayer servers aren't as populated as they used to be. Still, the campaign is a good distraction for a few hours, and certainly a challenge on higher difficulty settings. Plus, with Click & Collect being possible with this deal, it means you could make it a cheerful stocking filler if need be. Cheers to Buzz for the heads-up!

Battlefield 4 for £5 on the Playstation 3 is a must have

It hasn’t been a smooth launch for its multiplayer component, and the single player campaign still won’t win any awards, but the latest effort from DICE is certainly the best Battlefield experience we’ve seen for a quite a while. Thanks to a rather shiny Frostbite 3 engine, and an array of social features with Battlelog, Battlefield 4 on PC might well be one of the best multiplayer titles of the year. Battlefield 4 Review | Locked & Loaded (PC)

I say it over and over, nothing will ever live up to the multiplayer fun of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but if something was to have a great attempt it would be Battlefield 4. If you own a PlayStation 3 but don't own Battlefield 4, at £5 now is the time to rectify that.

The single player campaign is an improvement over B3, but the continued presence of a save wiping bug shows poor work from Dice. But yes, multiplayer is why we’re all here for Battlefield 4 and it’s incredible. Be it in small Squad Deathmatches or huge landscape-shattering vehicle-enhanced open warfare in Conquest, there’s no better multiplayer experience on PS4. Battlefield 4 PS4 Review - Winning the War

This a great price for Battlefield 4, although it was never going to live up to the brilliance of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, it's definitely better than Battlefield: Hardline. That of course is my opinion and understand opinions may differ.

Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Battlefield 4 and more see some free game time on Origin

Four games currently have free game time for us on the Origin website ranging from 48 hours right up to 168 hours.

168 hours should be more than enough time to get your teeth into the single player side of Battlefield 4 and after 48 hours of Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare I can guarantee you will be purchasing it, or at least you should be!

Thanks to FantasyDeals on HUKD for the heads up.

I think Carl hit the nail directly on the head with his review of Battlefield 4 back in November of 2013. Battlefield 4 is still one of the best Battlefield experiences we have had the pleasure of to date, but still, it's no Bad Company 2 is it? Which reminds me, EA. When can we expect Bad Company 3?

Uplay are selling Battlefield 4 at a huge discount and undercutting Origin

We've seen some cheap Battlefield 4 deals over the last few months, but we didn't expect Ubisoft to trump almost all of them. They're currently selling their rival's shooter for just £7.49, which is an absolute steal considering that even Origin are retailing at £14.99 along with the rest of the cheapest online sellers. Thanks to mrsusan74 @ HUKD!

Don't panic. You'll get an Origin code. Battlefield 4 is a great shooter, now that it isn't broken. Click here to read our Battlefield 4 review, and check out our video of what happened when three complete noobs took on the Naval Strike DLC.

What's in Battlefield 4's massive winter patch?

Battlefield 4 has received an enormous new update on all platforms. Entitled the Winter Patch, this new wodge of content weighs in at 400MB on PC and 1.34GB on consoles, and is naturally mandatory for playing online.

So what's in it, exactly?

The answer is a metric butt-load of tweaks and improvements, both to performance and the netcode, as well as a brand new Squad Obliteration mode. New player servers will make it easier to get involved, new premium playlists are available and you can customise the UI to a much more granular degree.

There are so many patch notes, in fact, that DICE have rolled out a massive PDF to make things easier. Check it out along with a representative sample of the biggest fixes below.

Hold off Hardline and pick up Battlefield 4 from £19.95 on PS4/XO

Battlefield 4 had a rough start, but the game has received some serious patch work to fix it up. £19.95 is an outstanding price too for a new copy too. Given the choice between this and the upcoming Battlefield: Hardline, we'd go for this one so far. The recent Hardline beta ran smoothly, but we've been burned at launch before.

Take a look at my PS4 review.

We may not be the best helo pilots you'll ever meet, but we do love getting stuck into Battlefield 4 like the enthusiastic cannon fodder we are.

If you really want the PS4 version rather than playing it on PC (which I'd consider to be the platform of choice for the Battlefield series), £21.00 is the cheapest new price around at the moment (and only 5p more expensive than a shortlived GAME deal last year!). Note that you'll need to collect in-store to avoid paying for delivery. Thanks payders!

EA have cut the price on their Ultimate Action Bundle, which includes BF 4, Mass Effect 3, Dead Space 3, and Medal of Honor, down to £14.99 from £29.99. It's a fine bundle price for the four games, though we'd question the logic of playing Mass Effect 3 out of sync, and Dead Space 3 is easily the weakest of the games in the Dead Space series.

That said, if you can find deals for ME 1and 2, and perhaps already have the first two Dead Space titles, then this is a great package, and well worth £15 regardless.

Battlefield 4 actually works these days... more or less... and when it does, it's an absolutely brilliant game, full of explosive awesomeness and redonkulous vehicular shenigans. Vehnanigans? Rehicugans?

There are still loads of people playing it, and it'll be good to get some practice in before Hardline releases. If it ever does. To be honest, I'm not sure releasing a game about policemen shooting people with impunity is necessarily the best idea in the current climate. But you don't need to worry about that with BF4.
