The Evil Within Interview & Gameplay Footage Leaps Out, Scares Us

Sony and Bethesda's Pete Hines got together for a little chat about The Evil Within: the upcoming survival horror title from Shinki Mikami. Not only is the ensuing footage rather informative (and promising for horror fans), but it also contains plenty of gameplay too.

Definitely one to watch ahead of its 2014 launch on current and next-gen consoles.

Wolfenstein: The New Order E3 Trailer Rewrites History

What would the 1960s be like if the Nazis won World War II? The latest Wolfenstein: The New Order trailer poses that question by taking us through some nightmarish perversions of historical scenes (such as four stormtroopers crossing Abbey Road), before getting down to gameplay footage of B.J. Blazkowitz shooting up legions of Nazi war mechs.

RUMOUR: Prey 2 Picked Up By Dishonored Devs?

Prey 2 blew us away at E3 2011, to the extent that we crowned Human Head's bounty-hunting sequel as the second best game of show (behind a certain BioShock Infinite). However, the project quickly fell off our radar, with suggestions that the developers had effectively gone on strike and left the freeform shooter up the proverbial creek.

New reports, however, allege that Prey 2 might finally be back on track... and in the hands of none other than Arkane Studios.

Game Buzz | Episode 27 - In Defence of Microsoft

This week, we find ourselves playing devil's advocate a lot. First we defend Windows 8's honour, and argue not only that it's possible the OS might not actually be the reason PC sales are down, but that it's made PC's accessible for many for the first time in years; we look at the latest rumblings from the rumour-mill, specifically Durango's backwards-compatibility or lack thereof, microtransactions potentially coming to Halo, and the resurfacing of Ryse on our radars; we chat a little about Bethesda's noise about noise, beg them to finish Prey 2, and look at Pete Hines' words on day-one DLC. Finally, we briefly discuss the emergence of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the new Dark Souls II gameplay footage, and the Flashback sequel from Paul Cuisset.

Skyrim's Legendary Patch Now Live On Steam

Level Cap? What Level Cap?

Just when you thought Skyrim couldn't get any bigger, the Legendary patch comes along and slays the level cap. Players can now make level 100 skills 'Legendary' by reading the Book Of Waking Dreams, returning skill points, perk points and allowing you to start grinding again from level 15. By doing this, you can now accrue character levels above 81 as many times as you want.

Patch 1.9 is now live on Steam and headed to consoles "later this month." Patch notes after the break, which includes a new difficulty setting dragons and yet more fixes.

The Elder Scrolls Online Screenshots

Zenimax Online Studios have released a clutch of new screens for The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMO set in Bethesda's glorious RPG universe. It's colourful enough, but Matt Firor's team will have to work hard to differentiate TESO from WoW, Guild Wars 2 and competing MMOs. Interestingly, the latest previews seem to indicate that first-person gameplay will be supported.

You can currently sign up for the beta, and read our The Elder Scrolls Online preview while you wait.

Dishonored: The Knife Of Dunwall DLC Announced

Bethesda has announced a new story-focused DLC expansion for Dishonored, entitled The Knife Of Dunwall. In an interesting new perspective, players will explore new areas of Dunwall as the villainous assassin Daud, who's armed with "new powers, weapons and gadgets."

The Knife Of Dunwall has been dated for April 16th for all platforms (the European PS3 version will probably arrive a day later in line with the weekly update), costing $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. We've got all the details after the break.

PS3 Finally Getting Skyrim DLC in February

Usually, Microsoft have to get their wallets out to ensure timed-exclusive DLC for the 360, but thanks to Bethesda’s poor PS3 development skills, they got the Skyrim ones for free. PS3 fans can now stop feeling so left out though as Bethesda have recently confirmed that all three packs -Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard- will be coming at some point in February. There’s even more good news for the beleaguered PS3 gamer too...
