It's Humble Bundle time! Or more specifically: Humble Android bundle time. You'll get Android, PC, Mac and Linux versions of these games (highlight being Spacechem, Spirits and the sensational Uplink), so Android tablet owners will be laughing.
Note that you can pay what you want, but need to beat the average for Spirits. It'll only set you back about £3-4 minimum.
Steam's latest indie compilation has a fairly obvious geometric theme, drawing together six puzzle games that feature cubes in some capacity. Highlights include the ferociously addictive BIT.TRIP RUNNER, the stylish first-person Q.U.B.E. and gorgeous platformer Blocks That Matter.
The BIT.TRIP Complete Wii Collection and 3DS SAGA version finally have a firm release date. Rising Star Games have announced that both titles will hit shelves on 16th March, marking the first time that these formerly download-only titles will appear at traditional retail.
Saga includes all six BIT.TRIP games - Beat, Core, Void, Runner, Fate and Flux - remastered into three dimensions for the 3DS.
BIT.TRIP Complete features all six games on top of 120 extra levels, a soundtrack CD and unlockable content. After sampling this definitive edition in our hands-on preview (and getting my arse handed to me by BIT.TRIP Runner), we're looking forward to it immensely.
Gaijin Games' BIT.TRIP series is an indie institution, a runaway success story that has found a home everywhere from the PC to WiiWare to mobile devices. The franchise's colourful art design, soothing synesthesia and outrageous addiction factor have resonated with countless willing gamers, and we were delighted to hear that Rising Star Games are bundling the entire six-game lineup into a definitive Wii edition with plenty of new content, global leaderboards and a soundtrack CD.
I recently sat down with the latest preview build to see how things are coming along - and though the core games are very similar to the already-released WiiWare versions, we couldn't be more excited about how it's shaping up. BIT.TRIP's crisp and colourful art style is a perfect fit for the Wii since it's utterly gorgeous without taxing the hardware in any way, and the games themselves are simple to play yet outrageously difficult to master.
Since BEAT.TRIP Complete is a compilation of six thematically similar but mechanically unique titles, we'll briefly discuss each one in turn before moving onto the question of bonuses, unlockables and value. Veterans might want to skip through the first half of the preview... but there are a couple of surprises along the way.
Rising Star Games, the boutique publisher who thrives on bringing niche import titles to the UK, has signed two BIT.TRIP collections from Gaijin Games. BIT.TRIP COMPLETE and BIT.TRIP SAGA contains all six of the excellent music games, and mark the first time a collection of these highly-regarded (and mind-blowingly colourful) titles will appear at traditional retail as opposed to digital downloads. Players will be able to enjoy the rhythmic galaxies and ride along with CommanderVideo as he completes his mission and returns home.
BIT.TRIP COMPLETE is headed to the Wii and contains a huge amount of extra features, while SAGA will be hitting the 3DS with full 3D support. We can't wait to see how long our retinas last under sustained visual assault.
Both collections have been dated for Q1 2012, and we've got more details after the break.Click here to read more...
