Call of Duty: Ghosts Free fall Edition only £4.95 on PS3

I appreciate we have all moved on since Call of Duty: Ghosts with most people currently on Advanced Warfare and looking to the future of Black Ops 3 but £4.95 for a single player campaign on the Playstation 3 is never to be sniffed at. You never know the multiplayer may well still be acceptably playable too.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts is a surprisingly tough sell on current-gen consoles, and wastes the opportunity to push the franchise forward in any meaningful way. Though still a solidly-built shooter that offers the kitchen sink, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions lack players and features compared to both the next-gen editions, PC and even - most damningly of all - Black Ops II. It's galling to see a sequel offer less, not more, than games we already own. We'll review the next-gen versions as soon as we can. - Call Of Duty: Ghosts Current-Gen Review | The Old Kitchen Sink

Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS3 only £8.49

Got a gap in your Call of Duty collection? Ghosts is certainly worth a punt on PS3 for just £8.49.

The player-limit on the multiplayer maps is smaller than the PC and next-gen counterparts, which is a letdown, but there's still plenty of fun to be had with the series' trademark killer multiplayer shootouts. The single player campaign sees a crippled America trying to prevent their utter annihilation after South America unified and attacked with an orbital satellite weapon. Yes, it's Team America-bonkers, but it's a lovable sort of insane that entertains from start to finish. Worth it for the Alsatian vs helicopter moment alone.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is only a fiver at Tesco right now on last-gen platforms.

Ghosts isn't exactly the best game in the series, and it's significantly better in multiplayer on the new-gen platforms than on PS3/Xbox 360, but it's still worth romping through for a fiver if you've not yet upgraded your machine and fancy some big, dumb, explosive fun. Cheers ViolatorX!

Game Buzz | Episode 72 - We Forgot About Dre

This week on Game Buzz... We have a gander at Titanfall's DLC plans and ask what the game needs to keep it fresh, we chat about Marty O'Donnell's departure from Bungie, we touch upon the announcement of Civilization: Beyond Earth, and we take a look at Call of Duty's plans for Snoop Dogg DLC.

Still can't believe that last one isn't a really late April Fool.

ReviewThe Highs and Lows of Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Single Player

Not going next-gen yet? Well, this is the best price I've seen for Ghosts on the 360. For the multiplayer, it's worth noting that the player count per map has been capped at a smaller number than the next gen versions, making for some empty feeling maps, but it's still a lot of traditional COD-style fun. The campaign is a fantastic rush from start to finish if you just want to be entertained too. And when you put a COD disc into a console, that's absolutely what you want.

Last-gen Review | Highs & Lows of the Campaign

The next-gen version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is the one to go for as for some odd reason, the player-count per map was capped for the multiplayer on the PS3 and 360 (Naughty!). Sure, Battlefield 4 batters it in the multiplayer department, but Ghosts' MP is solid and the campaign is all sorts of fun if you just go with it. By go with it, I of course mean turn off your brain and enjoy all the explosions.

The Highs and Lows of Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Single Player

Infinity Ward’s latest shooter, Call of Duty: Ghosts, hit the shelves this week and has again proved a big success, although not to the same degree as previous titles. There’s been a drop in sales, albeit one which could be explained by players waiting for next-gen versions later this month. The critical reception has taken a hit too though as the series dips into the ‘dreaded’ yellow zone on Metacritic with a current average of 75 instead of the usual 80-90 range. Our very own Mr. Lester gave the game a 6/10 rating.

Much of the criticism has been aimed at the game’s single player element, which is surprising, given that Infinity Ward should know what they’re doing by now. Have they become lazy? Are we expecting too much? Have our tastes changed? Or do we just want to get on with the multiplayer?

Well, today let’s tackle the single player side of Ghosts, by looking at what’s strong and what’s wrong with it. My experience and thoughts are based on my recent complete playthrough of the campaign on the PS3.

Game Buzz | Episode 54 - Xbone Fanboys

This week on Game Buzz, Matt and Jon expose themselves as the enormous Xbox fanboys that they are; we ask if Call of Duty: Ghosts is actually any good; we have a chat about why not even a cool half million can tempt us back to GTA Online; we ask if Nintendo is doomed under Iwata after his wishy-washy response to an investor grilling; and we ponder upon Square Enix's realigned focus on F2P and mobile.

Dealspwn Playthrough | Call Of Duty: Ghosts Extinction Mode - Surviving The Hordes

We issued our official verdict on Infinity Ward's latest shooter yesterday, and the general consensus is that the Extinction mode is the highlight of Call Of Duty: Ghosts, so we've decided to give it the Dealspwn Playthrough treatment to show you what it's all about. In today's episode, Carl provides commentary as we watch him destroy alien hives with a massive drill, before giving his thoughts on of the progression system whilst fending off wave upon wave of dog-like aliens, all of which are trying to eat his face. See it all after the jump.
