Watch Dogs out before June, but delayed on Wii U

Where is Watch Dogs?

Following an eleventh-hour delay last October, Ubisoft's anticipated hacking/driving/shooting/sneaking sandbox has dropped from "Spring 2014" to MIA, with all manner of Wii U cancellation rumours and fraudulent trademark abandonment claims echoing around the deafening official silence. Thankfully a recent investor call gives us a more firm idea of when to expect it, though those Wii U reports do appear to be based around a chewy truth centre.

Ubisoft: Multiplatform Release Is "The Only Reason" For Rayman Legends Delay

Wii U To Receive Exclusive Demo

Ubisoft has spoken out to explain why Rayman Legends' Wii U release date has been pushed back from next week to September 2013, stating that the decision was only made to allow for a smooth multiplatform launch.

Perhaps confusing 'compensation' with 'torture,' they also plan to give Wii U owners a little taste of what to expect with a new demo in the coming weeks.

Persona 4 Arena Not Showing Up In Europe This Year

There was a small sliver of hope that we might have seen Persona 4 Arena this side of the Atlantic in 2012, but those hopes have now been shattered

“A 2012 release for Persona 4 Arena is now no longer possible,” said publisher Zen United on the Persona Europe Facebook page.

“We will of course, continue to update you, as soon as we have more information. We know this is very upsetting for many of you – us included, we might add – and we sincerely look forward to being able to deliver better news to you soon.”

Rumour: Xbox 720 Could Be Delayed Due To "Painfully Low" Processor Quality

Oh boy. We've had plenty of Xbox 720 rumours to pick apart over the last few months, but this latest report is an absolute doozy. According to tech site SemiAccurate, Microsoft may be forced to delay their next-generation console due to "painfully low" processor yields in the manufacturing process.

That said, since the rumoured delay is technically for an unannounced console without a release date, I daresay that few people will lose sleep over this one yet.

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Delayed Into 2013

Horror sequel Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs will miss its Halloween 2012 release window. "The quality of the game is the absolute first, last, and always with this development, and we felt it could do with a few more months’ work to make sure that’s really going to happen,” thechineseroom creative director Dan Pinchbeck told Gamezone, basically suggesting that the project will miss this year altogether.

On the plus side, at least we've got a few more months of blissful, happy innocence before A Machine For Pigs turns our PCs into nightmarish portals to realms of pure terror. And we've got time to stockpile stain remover. For, you know, our [that's quite enough, thanks -Ed]

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Delayed Into October

Sharpshooting sequel Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has been delayed until October 9th, Eurogamer reports today. We don't know the reasons behind the hiatus, but we assume that some extra polish couldn't hurt. Despite being painfully mediocre, the original game managed to shift over two million copies, and the sequel promises to be a much more solid proposition that kicks the woefully poor traditional FPS sequences to the curb.

Check out our Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 hands-on preview for more details.

It's a shame that City Interactive's shooter will miss its original August launch window, since Ghost Warrior 2 will now have to go up against the Christmas AAA glut of Black Ops 2, Halo 4 and Medal Of Honor: Warfighter, amongst others.

SEGA Delays Anarchy Reigns Into 2013

Furious Platinum: "We're Still In The Dark"

An E3 no-show and cagey release date changes started to ring alarm bells for Anarchy Reigns, the stylish brawler from Platinum Games. SEGA has now come clean and announced that the niche title has been delayed in the West, all the way back from this summer to Q1 2013.

Platinum Games aren't happy about it. At all. Especially since they've completely finished development and localisation on time, and were kept in the dark up until the announcement.

Rocksmith Delayed In Europe... Again

Ubisoft has delayed Rocksmith's European release once again, pushing it back from September to October 12th. No reason has been given for the delay, but it's likely that ongoing legal problems may be holding the game back. We exclusively revealed that "no agreement had been reached" with the UK band Rocksmith as of last month.

Rocksmith lets players engage with a music game using a real guitar, thus teaching fundamental music theory through gameplay. It's a neat idea, but we're starting to wonder if we'll ever see it on British shores.

Inversion Delayed For A Third Time

Namco Bandai and Saber Interactive have announced that Inversion, their gravity-bending third person shooter, has been delayed once again in order to ensure that it's as polished as possible. Considering the glutted nature of the genre, a few more weeks of development probably couldn't hurt.

"The extra development time for Inversion affords the team the opportunity to create an enjoyable and engaging third-person shooter experience with a comprehensive multiplayer component, including extensive competitive and co-operative modes." - Saber Interactive

Inversion will now release on 8th June in Europe, for PS3 and Xbox 360. We've got an Inversion hands-on preview to tide you over in the meantime.

Ridge Racer Unbounded Delayed Until End Of March

Bugbear's Ridge Racer Unbounded has been pushed back until the end of March, Namco Bandai have confirmed. The game is now due on Friday, 30th March, with a statement given to EG explaining that "the development team felt they needed a little bit of extra time to optimise the game".

The game is something of a move away from Ridge Racer's traditional arcade racing roots, with Bugbear incorporating elements of the gameplay seen in their FlatOut series as well as channelling something of a Burnout feel. You can check out Jon's Ridge Racer Unbounded preview here.

Asura's Wrath Delayed Into March

Utterly bonkers brawler/shooter/QTE collection Asura's Wrath has been delayed into March in the UK, MCV reports. Apparently Capcom have opted to push the February 24th release back to March 9th without giving a reason for the delay.

Erm, isn't March 9th the day that Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken hits shelves? Interesting decision there, Capcom. Either way, be sure to mug up on our confusing and arousing Asura's Wrath preview.

Jaffe: Twisted Metal Delayed In Europe?

David Jaffe has taken to NEOGAF to inform us that Twisted Metal will, to the best of his knowledge, be delayed until March 1st in Europe. This is apparently due to a number of content cuts that SCEE plan to make, including removing some of the most graphic moments from the deranged cutscenes. We've got the full statement below.
