Evolve is very tempting at £7.99 on XO

Xbox One gamers can now pick up a preowned copy of Evolve for just £7.99.

Evolve generally reviewed quite well , but here at Dealspwn, we seriously questioned the value for money on offer at full price, especially for what seems to be rather a shallow experience. Take a look at Jon's Evolve review for more on the subject. That said, if you enjoyed the alpha and beta test sessions and have a group of friends you'll want to play it with regularly, dive in and take advantage of this front-runner deal which offers better value for money than the game originally did at launch.

Evolve on PC falls to its lowest price yet

This is the cheapest deal we've seen for the PC version of Evolve, with it beating the next best offer elsewhere by a fiver thanks to the voucher code above. In our review we felt that, despite the gameplay capable of being very fun, Evolve is ultimate a shallow experience. It should also be pointed out that the PC community playing it has crumbled to just a handful as well, meaning finding a full game online may prove difficult. Still, if you have a group of friends looking for a new shooter experience, it's certainly worth a go at this price. Possibly. Thanks to AndyWedge @ HUKD!

Play Evolve for free this weekend

Always been a bit curious about Evolve, but been worried about putting any cash down because of all the talk about longevity and DLC minefields? We don't blame you to be honest, but it's always good to try a game for yourself over anything you'll read about it. So it's fantastic news that you'll be able to play the game for free for a few days this weekend.

Evolve stomped down to £12.99 on PC, if you dare

"Evolve is a handsome, smart and hectic eat 'em up that's surprisingly difficult to recommend," I wrote in our Evolve review. "What could have been an underground smash as a budget download has been spread thin to justify a AAA price, leading to grave concerns about its glacial progression, value, longevity and DLC strategy. Though still utterly fantastic under optimal conditions, Evolve asks far too much for an inconsistently enjoyable experience."

Or, in other words, it should have been much cheaper to justify such a small amount of content. Not to mention its greedy second season pass. Which means that it's a bargain for £12.99 on PC, even if its player base is tiny.

The fortune teller had turned white as a sheet. Josh had only visited her as a joke that day at the fairground, crossed her palm with a few coins and asked "what is the future of videogames?" He hadn't expected the convulsions, the screams, the eye-rolling, or was it just part of the act? Either way, the elderly woman across from him was shaking still but now mercifully quiet.

"DLC," she eventually whispered, a single genuine tear rolling down her cheek. "DLC without end or shame. Evolve is getting a second season pass."

The Order 1886, Destiny & Evolve headline this weeks GamesCentre deals

This weeks GamesCentre special offers have been updated with some cracking preowned titles and prices:

The Order 1886 has definitely got to be worth a shot at that price (hasn't it?) and I personally recommend Destiny at £13.99 for anybody yet to try it.

Evolve & Monster Expansion Pack now just £27.85 on PS4 and Xbox One

Evolve is about to receive its first major DLC in the form of the Behemoth monster. This massive bruiser weighs more than twice as much as an Easter Island statue, can roll up into a ball of death and can throw up massive rock walls to trap its prey.

The DLC is released on March 31st, and you can get ahead of the curve by buying Evolve and the Monster Expansion pack for just £27.85 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Before you do anything, though, make sure you read our Evolve review because I can't wholeheartedly recommend buying it.

Xbox One console + Battlefield: Hardline + Evolve for £299

This cheap Xbox One bundle comes with the Xbox One console, a physical copy of Battlefield: Hardline and a download code for Evolve for just £299. To get this bundled discount use Step 1, add the Evolve console bundle to your basket and then Step 2, add Battlefield: Hardline to your basket and they will automatically be discounted.

I've just finished the campaign for Battlefield: Hardline and was impressed overall. It's a huge step up from those found in the last two games. Playing as a cop is just the change the series needed and if you opt for stealth and arrests over tearing up the place, it's a unique experience to the Battlefield brand. Ok, it's pretty good fun destroying everything with guns also. Jon's penned a handy roundup guide if you need to top up your Xbox Live account too.

Play Evolve this weekend for free Gold monster skins

Evolve's ridiculous barrage of cosmetic DLC is pretty distasteful as far as we're concerned, but at least they're giving some of it away for free. Anyone who plays Evolve this weekend (between 9:00 PM PT on Thursday, March 5th to 9:00 PM PT on Sunday, March 8th) will receive a free set of golden monster skins that were previously only available if you actually worked at Turtle Rock.

Is Evolve's player base holding up? We're not entirely sure, but the Steam charts show a marked decline that's more pronounced than we'd expect even considering the natural post-launch dropoff (thanks to Rbourne for the tip). That's the nature of the beast, since Evolve can be fantastic when played under optimum conditions, but can be incredibly repetitive and boring at times too.

Want to join the hunt? If so, I'd suggest reading our Evolve review VERY carefully, then consider buying Evolve for £28.85 on Xbox One or £29.99 on PS4.

Get Evolve on PC for £21.99, PS4 / Xbox One for £29.99

Evolve on PC is currently £21.99 from GAME

Evolve on PS4 is currently £29.99 from GAME

Evolve on Xbox One is currently £29.99 from GAME

There's a good chance the price will plummet further in the near future, but as it stands GAME's current reductions are the best prices around for Turtle Rock's asymmetrical multiplayer shooter. In our review we felt that, despite the gameplay capable of being very fun, Evolve is ultimate a shallow experience. Still, if you have a group of friends looking for a new shooter experience, this might be worth a look. Possibly. Thanks to Xtrartx & Gooner for the heads-up!
