Fallout Anthology announced at Quakecon 2015

It looks like Bethesda are doing that thing again, you know the same thing they did at E3, dropping bombs. Pete Hines has taken to the stage at Quakecon 2015 to announce the Fallout Anthology for PC, arriving in Europe on October 2nd.

"Fallout Anthology features five critically acclaimed games and official add-ons in a premium collectible set – neatly packaged inside a Fat Man mini-nuke!"

Hines has stated on Twitter that the Fallout Anthology will retail at $49.99 (which should equate to around £32) and will be of limited supply..

Top 7 Gaming Features We Need In Real-Life

Games are great, they really are. They allow us to do things that science, reality and the like are probably never going to allow. It's not just the glory of stabbing dragons in the face, or the elation of winning the world cup that we wish would spice up the real world every now and then though. There are lots of little features in gaming that we take for granted, but would be incredibly helpful in the real world.

Here's seven of the best. Don't forget to let us know some of your own too!

Fast Travel

Top 7 Gaming Features We Need In Real-Life

Naturally if we're following gaming convention, you will of had to have visited your destination at least once by natural methods first. After that though, being able to pick a destination and then just be there would make life much simpler. Being late for work, or driving across the country for birthdays would no longer mean numb bums in trains, planes and automobiles.

Get on it science!

Pip Boy 3000

Top 7 Gaming Features We Need In Real-Life

And what better way to select your fast travel destination than your very own RobCo Pip-Boy 3000. This wrist-mounted personal information processor has been the go-to gadget of the apocalypse in the Fallout series and it's clearly the way to go. Pulling a phone out of your pocket is so last century you know, you savage. It's all about wearable tech nowadays, so would someone kindly get this sorted en masse?

One of the best games of last-gen, if not the best, Fallout 3 is an astonishingly fine game. An ambitious and expansive title, its stuffed with hard choices, morally questionable scenarios, super mutants to blast into chunky kibbles, and the joys of romping about the Capital Wasteland with Liam Neeson as your Dad.

You need it in your life, and it's super cheap pre-owned. Cheers Biboboy.

That's an awful lot of game for very little money! Fallout 3 remains one of our favourite RPGs of all time, letting you recreate a bizarre nuclear adaptation of Taken in the Capital Wasteland. Seriously, is there anything better than romping around killing abusive Super Mutants with Liam Neeson as your dad? No, no there isn't.

Fallout 3 GOTY or New Vegas Ultimate for £3.20/.99 each

Fancy Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition or Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition for £3.20 in the UK or $4.99 in the USA? I bet you do. Don't forget, these versions include all of the expansion DLC packs. As a resolute console gamer, I find myself bitterly punching another cheap PC game deal article into my laptop and muttering horrible things about PCs, PC gamers, motherboards and other things I have little understanding about. I'll have to pay about £15 for a pre-owned copy of New Vegas with the DLC on PS3 instead. FML, right?

UK gamers will need to either change their billing address to a US one, or create a separate account and just use it for ordering digital titles like this. HotUkDeals user BuzzDuraband recommends you enter these details to get past the sentry bots for example:

Fallout 3 GOTY Edition only £2.50 at GamersGate

Fallout 3: GOTY Edition (PC) | GamersGate | £2.50
Fallout 3: GOTY Edition PC Price Comparison | Fallout 3 Review

For my money, Fallout 3 is probably the best RPG of the last console generation and quite possibly the best game too. Its enormous game world was both enormous, unpredictable and dense; while the story and gameplay armed us with more choice than any other game I can think of.

If you haven't yet sampled Bethesda's exquisite take on the Fallout franchise, you can now get the GOTY Edition for less than a London pint. Thanks to ferreirm @ HUKD!

Bethesda RPG Sale | Gamefly | PC

If you’re looking for something to fill up your summer then this sale from Gamefly will certainly do the trick. All of the recent Fallout titles and everything to do with The Elder Scrolls have been reduced, with savings to be found across the board regardless of whether you are picking up DLC to complete your collection or if you’re getting everything all at once. The saving can be made even better by using the voucher code GFDJUL20UK – this will knock a further 20% off the total, but do bear in mind that it will not affect standalone DLC purchases.

So, let’s get on with what’s on offer:

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game Of The Year Edition | £7.49
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game Of The Year Edition | £7.49

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim | £9.99
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dawnguard DLC | £6.99
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Hearthfire DLC | £1.75

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn | £6.99
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Legendary Edition | £19.99

Fallout 3: Game Of The Year Edition | £4.99
Fallout: New Vegas | £4.99

A huge thanks to Fatality @ HUKD for the find!

PWNCAST | Season 3: Episode 11 - A.I. Friends

We'll be honest, this week's podcast goes a little off of the rails. What we originally envisaged as a discussion centred around artificial intelligence programming in terms of companion characters in games became a hearty chinwag about some of our favourite companions.

We even manage to make a case for Slippy Toad being the Best Video Game Companion Ever!

PWNCAST | Season 2: Episode 4 – Reboots

With XCOM: Enemy Unknown dominating our lives, we take the opportunity this week to talk in-depth about the best way to set about making the perfect reboot. We discuss some of our favourite franchise returns, talk about a few that failed to make the cut, and highlight a few franchises we rather wish would go away for a little while to allow for a little freshness.

PWNCAST | Season 2: Episode 4, Recorded: October 10th, 2012

Some of the things that get covered this week:

  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown
  • Have Firaxis made the perfect franchise reboot?
  • Can we consider Doom 3 and Fallout 3 reboots?
  • Why Metroid Prime rocked
  • Why Sonic could do with a break

...and much, much more.

Fallout 3 4

Now this might not be the game of the year edition, so you won't get any of the game's add-on packs, but £10 isn't much to ask in exchange for the almost endless number of gameplay hours you can plug into Fallout 3, plus you'll save yourself almost £3 on the next best offer coming in from Simply Games. When you're not strolling around trying to unravel the main story thread, you'll probably be venturing off the beaten paths of the Wastelands and meeting a whole host of interesting characters.

Fallout 3 2

You're not going to find a game that's much better than this one! Fallout 3's one of those games you can sit back and happily lose hours of your life to, thanks to the vast quantity of content, a fantastic story, and loads of wicked characters. Also, there's a fair amount of action packed onto the disc as well, so remember to arm yourself to the teeth before you venture into the Wasteland. Choices UK are parting with copies of the game on the PS3 for £9.99, which is almost £2 cheaper than the next best offer. However, if you're looking for the add-ons as well, it's probably best to grab the GOTY Edition.

Fallout

What's better than grabbing one Fallout game? Grabbing two for £25, that's what, which is exactly what you'll be able to do if you head on over to The Hut. The price tag'll also allow you to save over £4.50 on the PS3 and over £2.50 on the Xbox, compared to picking up both games separately. The post apocalyptic environments that the Fallout series provides are great fun to blast your way through, and you shouldn't have to worry about running out of things to do. Thanks to JonnyDixon1990 @ HUKD.

Fallout 3 3

Fallout 3's one of those games you can play again, and again, and again, . . . and again, so £12.91 isn't a bad price tag for a game you'll undoubtedly invest numerous hours in, and'll save you just under £2 on the next best offers coming in from Zavvi and The Hut. Once you make it through the main game, you can jump into one of the five add-ons that come with the GOTY edition, and personally I really enjoyed playing through Mothership Zeta and Point Lookout. Thanks to AlanClarke @ HUKD.

Fallout 3

Heading on over to The Hut'll reward you with a copy of Fallout 3 for £12.85, which is just over £2 cheaper than the next best offer coming in from Sendit. In addition to the exceptional main game you'll get all the accompanying DLC, which includes Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta. If you're looking to stay busy for a fair while then this is the one for you, because you'll have to clock up a fair few gameplay hours to get through everything! Thanks to TheChopper @ HUKD.

With most places out of stock, high street vendors still charging £10-£15 for this comprehensive package and Steam's listing up in the £20 stratosphere, in swoops Gamestation to save the day. These'll almost certainly go fast, and you really do want the GOTY Edition if you've yet to sample the Capital Wasteland...if only for Broken Steel's raised level cap. All five expansions are included here, and it's all too easy to sink 100 hours into this lot. This is the sort of game interventions were made for! Thanks to you, scaredofpoo!
