Everything you need to know about GTA V's definitive PC version - and why it will be worth the wait

Grand Theft Auto V launches on PC in four days' time. Nineteen months since GTA V first launched, well clear of current-gen console versions, it certainly took its sweet time.

Thankfully, we're convinced that it will be worth the wait - and should be nothing less than the definitive version of the game.

So to that end, here's our essential guide to GTA V on PC, from the specs to the new features, GTA Online and some of the crazy shenanigans you'll be able to get up to, while explaining why we can't wait for April 14th.

The Specs: can you run GTA V at 60fps?

Chances are that most of you have already been sorting out your rigs during the delay, but just to get the basics out of the way before getting onto the juicy stuff, here are Rockstar's recommended specs for running GTA V. As the most graphically definitive version of the game that runs at 60fps opposed to 30 on PS4 and Xbox One, you'll naturally need some fairly serious hardware.

Eight things you need to know about GTA Online Heists - hit the ground running tomorrow

After more than a year of delays and broken promises, Grand Theft Auto Online is finally set to receive its heists tomorrow. The update will bring a slew of new missions and content to all versions of the game -- with the exception of the delayed PC edition, naturally -- and finally add the sweet cooperative capers we've all been looking forward to.

However, plenty of new details have now hit the internet, both in terms of official announcements, leaks and hands-on time, from its file size to the new hardware and secret achievements. Here's everything you need to know!

1: The download is between 1.2-4.8 GB

Eight things you need to know about GTA Online Heists - hit the ground running tomorrow

Do you need to clear some space? Players have confirmed that the Heists Update weighs in at 1.2GB on Xbox 360 and 4.8GB on Xbox One (the disparity due to the increased quality of graphical assets, no doubt), so make sure you've got enough room.

2: Some players are in it now!

Lucky so-and-sos. GTA Online Heists officially launch tomorrow, but you might want to check now just in case!

Game Buzz | Episode 80 - GTA Oh No

After a little break last weekend, Game Buzz is back! On this week's episode we rant about the mythical heists of GTA Online, chat about the GTA V and TLOU remasters that are coming this year, and discuss our impressions of Hardline, Destiny, and WildStar.

Wot No GTA Online Heists - Are Rockstar Holding Back For The New Version?

Rockstar has apologised for the continued absence of GTA Online's multiplayer heists, which were promised at launch, then Spring, then delayed into the ether. Apparently they need more time to deliver.

Call me a cynic, and I'd love to be wrong, but I'm not entirely convinced that time is the only factor here. Especially when they could easily turn an embarrassing delay into a 'next-gen' feature.

GTA V's Beach Bum DLC Pack Is Out Now, Has Dune Buggy Racing & A Broken Bottle (Wow!)

Wake Us Up When The Heists Arrive

Grand Theft Auto V has received its first downloadable content  today, in the form of the Beach Bum pack, which includes 30 new jobs, new vehicles and weaponry for both story mode and GTA Online.

What, not interested? Sorry, let me rephrase that. GTA V has received its first downloadable content  today, in the form of the free Beach Bum pack. That's better.

Still, we're going to need those heists soon if Rockstar's online playground can retain its player base, what with those next-gen consoles scant days from release.

Game Buzz | Episode 54 - Xbone Fanboys

This week on Game Buzz, Matt and Jon expose themselves as the enormous Xbox fanboys that they are; we ask if Call of Duty: Ghosts is actually any good; we have a chat about why not even a cool half million can tempt us back to GTA Online; we ask if Nintendo is doomed under Iwata after his wishy-washy response to an investor grilling; and we ponder upon Square Enix's realigned focus on F2P and mobile.

COMMENT | GTA Online and the Trappings of Tandem Tourism

I don't like going travelling on my own. I'm not saying that solo travel can't be fun at all, but just that in my general experience, I much prefer going along with a friend or partner. It's not a fear factor thing. I'm a large, imposing fellow; I can muddle through one or two European languages; and I have a relatively decent sense of direction. In short, I'm pretty confident I can handle myself if things go awry. No, it's more to do with anecdotes, camaraderie, and shared memories. It might say something about me on a psychological level, but I find there to be a greater solidity and validity in shared memories.

I say this because I seem to be having much more fun with the broken, botched, bloated beginnings of GTA Online than I had with the singleplayer game.

It doesn't really make a huge amount of sense. After all, there's actually currently less to do in GTA Online than there is in GTA V itself. There are huge chunks of promised gameplay bits and pieces -- *cough* heists -- that are completely absent, and the game gates off certain missions, activities, and interesting ways of making money until you've progressed up the ranks a bit.

Game Buzz | Episode 50 - Uncharted: Better With Kinect

This week on Game Buzz we shamelessly plug our recent GTA Online shenanigans; we chat about Phil Spencer's tantalising tease of the possibility of Xbox-PC crossover gaming as well as the planned implementation of mouse/keyboard functionality for the Xbone; we also take a look at Sony's approach to their console camera and Adam Boyes' bizarre statement about console exclusives; and we laugh at the Mad Catz MOJO's outlandish price point, which somehow manages to make the Nvidia Shield look like a good value proposition.

And we cheer the fact that Sleeping Dogs is getting a sequel! Wooooooo!

Parental Advisory: We've tried to keep it as conversational and informal as possible, and you should be warned that there may be some instances of strong language.

NB. Due to recent server migration, we still currently don't have access to the FTP so the YouTube embed is the only source for this week's podcast. We will, however be attempting to rectify this as soon as possible.

And it's the BEST GAME EVER!

This week on Game Buzz we get stuck into GTA Online and the Battlefield 4 beta, we chat about the recent Half-Life 3 trademark and its interesting timing, we have a natter about Star Citizen and crowdfunding, and Jon sings the Deus Ex theme tune before suggesting the best developer mashup ever.

Apologies for the sound quality on this one, by the way. But do give it a listen, this week's Game Buzz is pretty awesome.
