The Penny Arcade Adventures are a masterclass in comedy writing, being as they hail from Krahulik and Holkins, the writer and artist behind the Penny Arcade phenomenon. They're also functional and fun RPG games, with only a relatively short length serving to deter some gamers from spending the overly expensive XBLA/PSN price.
Now that Episode 3 from indie legend Robert Boyd is out, Steam are willing to sell you the preceding two episodes for a bargain combo price. You've got until July 2nd.

To be honest, I've never rated the Deathspank series. It's supposed to be a parody yet falls prey to all of the genre conventions that it's supposed to be taking the piss out of! The Baconing is just more of the same: visually appealing and technically accomplished grind with a few laffs along the way. For £4.99, it's probably worth a go for fans of the franchise. Otherwise, I'd just buy Magicka instead.
The Fires of Bacon mark the MacGuffin for which Deathspank is questing in this third outing for the bumbling hero from Hothead Games. Due to land on PC, PSN and XBLA this summer, Hothead have promised 'countless gameplay improvements to the combat system' along with 100 new quests, more than 70 characters, 80+ new weapons, new areas to explore and a mega-tough difficulty level.
