Inflatakart Peripheral Review | Plastic Fantastic?

Nordic Games released their first foray into Karting territory just before Christmas... and it was terrible. Jungle Kartz is a horribly cheap and genuinely nasty piece of merchandise, but the more canny amongst us recognised it for what it was: a tech demo for the Inflatakart peripheral. Nordic's inflatable Go-Kart retails at a relatively low price point, features a sprung steering wheel that houses a WiiMote and is compatible with any and all tilt-controlled Wii racers.

There's nothing cheap and nasty about the Inflatakart, and it's high time we gave this plastic powerhouse a full road test.

Jungle Kartz Launch Trailer

Nordic Games have released a new trailer for Jungle Kartz: their new Wii-exclusive racing game that released earlier this month. With 32 monster tracks spanning eight tropical environments and several unique animal characters, it certainly offers a lot of bang for your buck.

As mentioned, Jungle Kartz' early build was in dire need of serious polish back in August- so hopefully the finished article will deliver. We've got a review in the pipeline.

Jungle Kartz Gets Release Date & New Details

Nordic Games are best known for their We Sing and We Dance franchises, but this holiday season, they plan to branch out into that most pervasive of genres: karting. Jungle Kartz has now been confirmed for a November 16th UK release date on Nintendo Wii, where it will offer 32 tracks and support both the Wii Wheel and Inflatakart peripherals.

I must admit that the preview build needed a lot of work when I checked it out at Gamescom. Here's hoping that they've been polishing it like crazy over the last few months. We've got more details after the break.

Nordic Games Preview Roundup | We Dance, UK Hits & Inflatakarts!

We're big fans of Nordic Games here at Dealspwn. Their never say die attitude and willingness to go up against the biggest publishers on their home turf is a refreshing antidote to the usual triple-A hype. Our industry thrives on smaller companies who make a splash with their independent titles, and I was eager to swing by their booth at Gamescom to check out their product lineup. As it turns out, they do much more than just singing games.

Nordic Games Preview Roundup | We Dance, UK Hits & Inflatakarts!

Inflatables are awesome. As are racing games. Nordic has clearly paid attention to these fundamental laws of the universe and taken advantage of both with the Inflatakart: a resilient inflatable gaming chair that's shaped like a racing buggy. As a big kid at heart, I simply couldn't resist having a go... and despite my considerable girth, found it easy and comfortable to climb into and use. The Steering wheel features a sturdy mount for a Wiimote, which fits securely and provides an intuitive way to take advantage of tilt control. Build quality is absolutely excellent, and I'm reliably informed that the Kart has been tested up to and including loads of one hundred kilograms. It's certainly now been tested up to 88.

Getting out was fairly embarrassing, however. The expression 'beached whale' has never been more appropriate.
