Get Just Cause 3 on PC for just £17.95

There's a saving of over a tenner on this listing, and it's made even better by using the voucher code above. In some regards, Just Cause 3 delivered more of the same, but when that more of the same is ridiculous carnage over a tropical island, that's no necessarily a bad thing. Unlimited C4 and the new addition of the wingsuit give the action new life, so as long as you can get over the load times you'll have a blast with this one. Cheers to Buzz for the heads-up!

Just Cause 3 on PS4 only £32.99

Just Cause 3: Day One Edition is a few quid cheaper at SG than rival sites. The PS4 version hasn't suffered from as many loading/frame-rate issues as the XO version, but it's still far from perfect. Hopefully this week's patch will add a bit of Xmas polish.

I've reviewed the XO version of Just Cause 3, here's my short version: Long load times, sluggish frame-rate and awful shooting would usually be the end of an action game. Just Cause 3 just about gets away with it though thanks to the hugely open approach to carnage with the likes of grappling hooks, parachutes, wingsuits, rocket launchers, infinite C4, tanks, choppers and the freedom to do whatever you want with them.

UPDATE: Just Cause 3 £33.84 on Xbox One and PS4

UPDATE: Just Cause 3 £33.84 on Xbox One and PS4

[UPDATE: Looks like ShopTo have put it back up to full price again. Do not spend £40 on this. You can get it for £33.84 via GameSeek]

The Xbox One version of Just Cause 3 has received a major discount over at ShopTo. Of all the formats, the XO version is the poorest thanks to a stuttery frame-rate and excessive loading times. But in all honesty, the PS4 version isn't that much better. At this price though, it might be worth diving in.

Just Cause 3 Review - Appetite for Destruction

We've had more than our fair share of open world sandboxes on the new-gen consoles, but the wait for Just Cause 3 has been a rather long one. After all, nobody quite does explosions like Rico Rodriguez.

Just Cause 3 does so many fun things right, but the number of basic elements that it utterly fails at is truly shocking. My first few hours with the game were not good at all actually. However, as I got used to the rough edges, the fun side of the game eventually prevailed and I found myself reluctantly being teased into having a good time.

The story is mere window dressing to the carnage. Rico is once again tasked with liberating a sun-kissed set of islands from a tyrannical dictator. Rico isn't so much of a character as much as a walking accent. But at least he's not an asshole (hello, Mad Max).

Just Cause 3 Review - Appetite for Destruction

What's the best way to liberate a nation? By blowing up anything with red paint on it apparently. Small towns or settlements are packed with destructible items like propaganda speakers, dictator statues, billboards, fuel depots, generators and the like. Destroy them all and that's another location ticked off the map. With over 100 areas to liberate, you're not going home any time soon. You'll also need to reach various liberation milestones to unlock story missions, so you may as well get stuck into any town you glide past.

Best Just Cause 3 PS4 and Xbox One launch prices

Just Cause 3 finally launched today, so let's take a look at the best day one prices on PS4 and Xbox One.

I'm currently reviewing the XO version and would urge multiplatform holders to get it on PS4 as it has a higher resolution and the frame-rate is slightly less hideous on the Sony machine. After a poor start, the game is starting to open up nicely despite the rather clunky controls. Stay tuned for that review.

Square Enix announce the Just Cause 3 Collector's Edition, complete with grappling hook!

We're all very excited for Just Cause 3 here at Dealspwn, and can't wait to plant unending amounts of C4 everywhere before flinging Rico away with gleeful abandon. However, those of you that want to show your true fandom for the open-world action series will soon be able to do so by spending all the money on the Collector's Edition. Along with a Day One Edition of the game, it includes the Weaponized Vehicle Pack in-game DLC, a 24-inch by 24-inch poster map of the Mediterranean archipelago of Medici, a 32-page, hardcover art book, and a replica version of Rico’s famous grappling hook. There's no word if you'll be able to actually wear it, but even if it is we're pretty sure it won't work if you can (I know, I'm disappointed too.)

So, how much will it set you back? The RRP for it is set at £79.99, which personally speaking isn't the greatest in terms of value, but then again we live in a world where Bethesda are charging £100 for a smartphone arm mount. That I absolutely want. Ah well. Pre-orders for the Just Cause 3 Collector's Edition aren't available yet, but if you only want the base game we've got the the cheapest pre-orders around for you below!

Infinite boom packs!

Infinite C4 packs for everyone? Yes, Avalanche. Just, yes. They know damn well that we just want to run around Medici, blowing shit up and having a never-ending supply of C4 is a dream come true. Just think of all the crazy escapades you'll enjoy when combining it with this...

Just Cause 3 trailer is suitably insane

Here it is folks, leaked a few hours earlier than we were expecting, the first proper gameplay trailer for Just Cause 3. It certainly doesn't disappoint and is packed with that wonderful grappling hook, ridiculously dangerous attitudes to vehicle safety and more explosions than a Michael Bay montage. In short, it looks like the most fun game of 2015. Take a peek and see for yourselves.

Also, stay tuned to Dealspwn as I'll be bringing you a feature article later today on some of the finer points that'll have you wanting Just Cause 3 even sooner.

Looking forward to Just Cause 3? Pre-order it on PC for just £27.99

You can pre-order Just Cause 3 on PC for just £27.99 from 365 Games - Click here to buy!

We may know very little about it right now other than the handful of screenshots that have emerged, but this is a fantastic deal for Just Cause 3 ahead of its release (the date for which is still to be announced.) That said, 365 Games will charge you immediately, so be sure that you want to pre-order before actually doing so, as cancelling later if and when a better deal appears could prove troublesome (cheers to wibbleboy letting us know.) Just Cause 3 & AC Unity reveal the sick insanity of microtransaction culture

Two games have dominated headlines over the last 24 hours: Just Cause 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity. One a hero, one a villain, both perfect examples of how insane and toxic microtransaction culture has become.

To be perfectly clear, I don't have a problem with micro-transactions in cut-price or F2P games. They allow us to cherry-pick the content we want and spend however much money we want, while developers deserve to be paid for their effort. There's nothing wrong with that.

Unfortunately, when shoved into a game that already set you back £30-£50, something has gone horribly wrong.

Alleged Just Cause 3 screens leaked - Why we need Rico Rodriguez back in our lives

Just Cause 3 is looking... well... it's looking pretty Just Cause-y to be honest, if these rumoured screenshots of the Xbox One debug build are anything to go by. They don't reveal a huge amount apart from mountains, expansive landscapes, Rico shooting at traffic, and the purchasing of cars.

Eurogamer have managed to verify at least one of the images, more on that in a bit, but have your pinches of salt at the ready anyway.

I'm still yet to 100% Just Cause 2 -- I doubt now that I ever will -- but that hasn't stopped it being one of my favourite games in recent years, nor has it prevented us here at Dealspwn Towers craving a third instalment. Avalanche are being very coy, and no doubt focusing most of their efforts on Mad Max, but the return of Rico Rodriguez must surely be a priority for them.

We need him back, badly.

Avalanche Studios Teases Another Screenshot, More Just Cause Than Mad Max

Avalanche Studios have loosed another image into the wild, depicting a man freefalling towards an aeroplane in mid-flight. Presumably in order to grapple onto it. It's likely, then, that Just Cause 3 will be officially announced before too long.

Interestingly though, the character design suggests that a picture teased earlier this month might not be for a rumoured Mad Max project after all...

E3 2012 Preview | Fanciful Wishlist

In the last of our E3 2012 preview pieces, we let loose our imaginations and come up with a list of the things we'd really like to see in an ideal world. Most, if not all, of the following have little chance of actually happening, but it's nice to dream.

Carl

E3 2012 Preview | Fanciful Wishlist

Ubisoft apologising for Mr Caffeine. That’s number one right there.

Seriously though, a few things come to mind, and the first is Overstrike being properly unveiled. Insomniac’s next big IP caught my attention last year, and will hopefully make an appearance in EA’s conference. The 4-player co-op setup mixed with their trademark art style and humour seems like a winner for me, and I can’t wait to see it properly in action.

Secondly, while its predecessor absolutely divided opinion (perhaps more so than Mass Effect 3’s ending) I’d love to see what Dragon Age III has in store. If BioWare’s presentation at PAX East is anything to go by, we might be getting the game Dragon Age II should have been, and if that’s the case I will forgive them for their dungeon-recycling madness. Maybe.

And finally, what I’d most like to see happen is for Microsoft, in all of their wisdom, to announce the release of a universal version of the greatest peripheral ever made, the Sidewinder flight stick, at an affordable price. This brilliant move will no doubt be backed up by announcement of a new Wing Commander game; one where players will be able to hop between walking around their carrier with the gamepad and flying in space battles with the joystick. It will spark a gaming renaissance that will bring harmony to the gaming universe forever more.

Failing that, a new Star Wars game that doesn’t suck might be nice.
