Project CARS on PS4 is once again just £19.99

It's been a while since we've seen the PS4 version at this price, but here's another chance to get it for £20 and save a few pounds in the process. Project CARS remains one of the best driving simulators on the market today, despite competition from system exclusives like Forza and Drive Club. If you're a petrolhead that craves an authentic experience that is more about the driving than unlocks and progression, then this one really is a must. Thanks to LankySi @ HUKD!

Project Cars only £15.99 on PC

Project Cars is easily the best multi-platform racing game available, not that the competition is huge. This is a great price for the PC version too This is £8 cheaper than the next best deal.

Project Cars likes to sit more on the simulation side of the track, but there are plenty of driving aids to ease newcomers into the experience and it's incredibly satisfying as you slowly adapt and turn more of them off when you tame the wild vehicles. A worthy alternative to the likes of DriveClub and Forza. Check out Jon's review for more information.

Project Cars gets cheapest PS4 and Xbox One price yet

Project Cars is easily the best multi-platform racing game available on both PS4 and Xbox One, not that the competition is huge. This is the best price we've seen it for on the new-gen machines too. £27.99 is a great way for the game to mark its debut under that £30 barrier.

Project CARS drifts in at £14.86 on PC

Project CARS is beautiful, hard but beautiful. I played it recently and thinking I possess certain skills in racing games, Project CARS caused me serious concern with its ability to have me seriously calculating every move carefully. It really is a true driving simulator.

A simulator with soul, Project CARS strips the bloat out of the racing genre to focus on what truly matters: the cars, handling, tracks and exhilaration of real driving. Sensational weather effects and impressive visuals make it well worth the wait. Project CARS Review | Sunshine After The Rain

The Project CARS Audi Ruapuna Park Expansion update is its biggest yet

Moving on from the bad news circulating Project CARS and the Wii U, we need to focus on the good news (sorry Wii U owners). Project CARS has received its biggest update today in the form of the Audi Ruapuna Park Expansion pack. Bringing to Project CARS the new circuit Ruapuna Park, and three new Audi cars, IMSA GTO Audi 90, LMP Audi R8 and the R18 e-Tron Quattro.

Slightly Mad Studios describe the pack as:

"Comprising of five unique layouts, Ruapuna Park International Raceway is New Zealand's premier motor racing facility, located 13 kilometers west of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Project CARS on the Wii U sees the handbrake fully applied

Project CARS was always a maybe for the Nintendo Wii U, and that maybe wasn't really ever strengthened. Back in February Slightly Mad Studios announced their difficulty with the Wii U version, admitting that they could only manage to get the popular racer running "at about 23fps".

Today unfortunately sees the official canning of the game with Slightly Mad Studios stating:

Project CARS only £31.85 on Xbox One

It's a bit old hat now is Project CARS given that Project CARS 2 has now been announced.

It's not really but we may as well mock the situation given that this game has only been released for around 48 days.

Project CARS is an absolutely stunning game if not hard, but that just may well be an indication of not holding the skills I assumed I had with simulation games.

Was Project CARS 2 revealed far too early?

Project CARS is barely even seven weeks old, but Slightly Mad Studios has now proudly announced the sequel. Seeking more capital via their WMD crowd-funding portal, Project CARS 2 promises a huge track roster, loose surface modelling, a huge variety of disciplines and more.

The reaction has been... shall we say mixed?

Some fans are up in arms about the sequel being announced so soon after the original, blaming Slightly Mad of putting greed before supporting their player base, while others call for calm and urge their peers to remember how game development actually works. Let's take a look and see whether we're talking about a cash-grab or something something less sinister.

I recently tried Project CARS just after release and although I like to believe I am up there with the rest of the gamers driving club it proved extremely hard with me struggling to stay on the track at moments......on a straight! If you like your driving games hardcore then Project CARS is the one for you.

Project CARS Steam key is £19.95

I recently played Project CARS on the Playstation 4 and although I like to think of myself as quite a talented racer for the console gang, Project CARS is hard! That's not to say it isn't the most beautiful autosport game I have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on.

All the above aside. £19.95 is an absolute steal for this game. Remember to grab that 5% discount code from the CDKeys Facebook page.

Project CARS screeches to a halt on Wii U - 'we're running at 23fps'

Project CARS looks gorgeous on PC and current-gen consoles, but it originally promised to bring its hardcore and uncompromising brand of simulation to last-gen systems and the Wii U.

Whoops.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were totally scrapped, but Slightly Mad Studios have admitted that the long-delayed Wii U version still isn't up to snuff and is running at an atrocious frame rate.

Project CARS devs issue statement over harebrained NVIDIA vs AMD conspiracy theories

Project CARS is utterly gorgeous, but it favours NVIDA GPUs in terms of visuals and performance. Despite this clearly being an issue with AMD's drivers, many players proceeded to accuse Slightly Mad Studios of somehow crippling the game on AMD systems, perhaps after accepting a hefty bribe.

Slightly Mad have now spoken out on the technical forums to put the tin foil hat speculation to bed.
