Sony confirms Paris Games Week press conference for October 27th

Having rather curiously skipped this year's Gamescom, Sony are ready to bring the PS4 (and hopefully the Vita) back into the spotlight at Paris Games Week next month. They will be holding a press conference on Tuesday 27th October at 17:00 GMT, and while we expect the likes of The Nathan Drake Collection and Media Molecule's Dreams to appear, Sony have previously stated that there would be "some exciting announcements." That of course could mean anything - including another Kickstarter campaign being launched - but the smart money is on Quantic Dream making an appearance, more info from games like Rime and Wild, and perhaps something from No Man's Sky - a release date, or an open beta, perhaps?

Sony press conference will almost certainly be streamed online, so be sure to stay tuned for those details as they emerge. In the meantime, let's put this question out to you all - what does Sony need to show at Paris Games Week to get you excited? More Uncharted news? Some (or even any) love for the Vita? More Persona 5 goodness? Or perhaps a surprise announcement for something just in time for Christmas? Let us know in the comments!

Hatoful Boyfriend coming to Playstation 4 and Vita this month

"Hatoful Boyfriend may be a bonkers twist on the traditional Japanese dating sim, but its surreal 'boys are birds' premise is more than just a gimmick. Courting your potential feathered suitors is rewarding and frequently hilarious, while eventually unravelling the story's darker elements bring the real heft and value to the experience.

If you're willing to leave your comfort zone, it's worth sticking your beak in." Hatoful Boyfriend Review | I'm A Pigeon Fancier

Mediatonic and publisher Devolver Digital have today announced that Hatoful Boyfriend will indeed now be coming to Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita this month in a cross-buy title capacity.

Pre-loved Sony PlayStation Vita Console only £79.99

The Playstation Vita is the second most used console in my house, and it is staying with me forever, FOREVER. The poor little blighter gets so much stick and that legitimately makes me sad. Granted it hasn't had the best support from Sony since its release back in February of 2012, but it's kept on going and it has given players worldwide hours and hours of entertainment.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, Rayman Origins and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster are all personal favourites of mine and amongst others are the reason I keep going back to my little handheld beauty.

Grim Fandango Remastered drops to £5.99 on Playstation Store

Grim Fandango Remastered is a museum piece of sorts, the sprucing up of a retro artefact made fit for modern display. But even if the mechanisms of this game seem a little dated now, we're reminded how the story and its characters are timeless in their good humour and quality, and in that respect, this Remaster should hold almost as much joy for newcomers as it does for returning fans.Grim Fandango Remastered Review | Dead Funny

Grim Fandango Remastered is a cross-buy title so you buy it once and play it on both your Playstation 4 console and PS Vita.

Uh-oh, Sony just called the PS Vita a "legacy platform"

It's no secret that the PS Vita is floundering here in the West, despite a fantastic selection of localised Japanese games releasing on a regular basis. After completely sidelining it at last year's Gamescom presentation, Sony has now described their premium handheld as a "legacy platform."

Which is not great news, frankly, but might not be as damning as it first sounds.

Sony E3 2015 Predictions - "the pressure is on for PS4"

E3 2015 starts in less than three weeks, promising one of the most fiercely-contested expos of recent years. We're doing our best to predict what each publisher and manufacturer will bring to the table, so having covered Microsoft yesterday, it's time to take a look at their rival sitting pretty in the blue corner.

Sony are leagues ahead of the competition in terms of sales, console hardware specs and Bloodborne, but does their confirmed 2015 games lineup put them at a disadvantage? What about the Vita? It all comes down to how willing Sony are to surprise us.

Brendan

Sony E3 2015 Predictions - "the pressure is on for PS4"

Sony's E3 showing is probably going to be packed with the hottest 2016 lineup of all the platforms. Uncharted 4 and Project Morpheus are bound to get some stage time and it'd be great to get some pricing and release date info for the headset.

I really hope the Guerrilla Games IP will finally be revealed, especially if it's related to that 'leaked' image from a while back. The one with giant robot dinosaurs facing off against tribesmen. Who the hell wouldn't want that! I wouldn't mind a new Killzone, but it'll need to be an improvement over the pretty, yet dreary, Shadow Fall.

FIFA 15 is £9.99 on Playstation Vita

We know the season is now over and the inevitable FIFA 16 is due around September but £9.99 for the latest instalment is a cracking price.

"Not much has changed off of the pitch, EA Canada still can't seem to work out how to create stable netcode at launch, and goalkeepers still make hideous errors in spite of their obvious upgrades, but ultimately FIFA 15 is a fast-paced, thrilling triumph where it counts. It's frustrating at times, but it's also the most rewarding FIFA in years." - FIFA 15 Review | Thrilling Pace (8/10)
