Rayman Legends only £5.99 on Xbox One

Rayman Legends has never been cheaper for the PS4 and Xbox One. Hell, as prices stand today, even the PS3/360 versions are more expensive at around £15. Don't forget to use CD Key's facebook discount by clicking the link at the top of their page.

Rayman Legends is a hot contender for platformer of the last generation here at Dealspwn. Ubisoft's UbiArt engine has never looked better than this side-scrolling 2D platformer. After the also excellent Rayman Origins, it's good to see the limbless wonder back in the spotlight after getting pushed to the sidelines by the Raving Rabbids series. Here's my review of the PS4 version.

BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider & Rayman Legends to be Xbox Live Games With Gold - rumour

According to a new rumour-slash-leak, next month's free Games With Gold have been revealed for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

If true, BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider will both be free on Xbox 360 throughout March for Xbox Live Gold Members. Lara will take the first shift until March 15th, at which point Booker takes over for the rest of the month.

Meanwhile, on Xbox One, Rayman Legends will be free to download all March long, while #IDARB will remain free.

No official confirmation yet, but expect it soon. According to a purported screengrab of Microsoft's internal ExpertZone site, we'll also get double the number of Xbox Live Games With Gold in April, which suggests that Microsoft are trying to up their game and compete with PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection. Here's hoping.

Rayman Legends deal - grab one of the finest platformers ever from £9.99 on PS4

Rayman Legends is now £9.99 (preowned) at GAME. Click here to buy one of the finest platformers in recent years >>

Probably one of, if not the best platformer of last-gen, Rayman Legends is a reminder that Ubisoft can do brilliantly crafted, mechanically perfect, riotously fun games when they want to. The new-gen version has few improvements on the last-gen equivalents, but don't let that stop you from picking it up, especially if you fancy a bit of couch multiplayer this Christmas.

Get a PlayStation 4 Console in White with Minecraft & Rayman Legends for £314.99 from Shopto / Ebay

It's yet another PS4 bundle from ShopTo via Ebay for the PS4, but instead of big action titles or sports games  being included, we have a family friendly bundle with two differing yet fantastic titles.

What's noteworthy about the games included is that you can do local co-op, although you'll have to get a second controller separately (keep an eye out on here, we'll highlight a good deal for one eventually.) Thanks to mondaytuesdayhappydays @ HUKD for the find!

Back in stock! Grab Rayman Legends on Wii U for £13.28 at Amazon

Rayman Legends is at its best on Wii U. That shouldn't be a surprise -- Ubisoft's outstanding platformer was built purposefully for the platform, after all. The asymmetrical multiplayer isn't quite as fun as Ubi and Nintendo would have you believe, but this is a game stuffed with brilliant level design, perfect mechanics, and just as much charm as Nintendo's own stable of platforming legends.

Rayman Legends is cheaper on new-gen than last-gen at £9.14

Rayman Legends has never been cheaper for the PS4 and Xbox One. Hell, as prices stand today, even the PS3/360 versions are more expensive at around £15. The site is selling these 'as new', so take from that what you will. Considering the huge saving though, we think it may be worth the plunge.

Rayman Legends PS4 Review | Familiar, But Fantastic

Platforms: PS4 (reviewed) | Xbox One

Developers: Ubisoft Montpellier

Publisher: Ubisoft

After being utterly smitten with the next-gen re-release of Tomb Raider last month, I was keen to see how last year’s rather tasty Rayman Legends fared on the next-gen machines too. Well, there’s good news and bad news.

There’s a strong argument that that Rayman Legends looks exactly the same on the new consoles as it does on the older ones and there’s no truly relevant new material. But on the other hand, shop around and you can currently buy it for only £7 more than the last-gen version, meaning you don’t have to spend much to finally play a decent platformer on your PS4 or Xbox One.

Rayman Legends PS4 Review | Familiar, But Fantastic

You’re probably wondering what else you’re getting with the new version? The most-welcome addition is the removal of loading screens, creating a seamless experience between levels. You can probably expect cramp a bit sooner too. Each platform has unique unlockable characters influenced by Ubisoft’s other franchises. The PS4 gets Assassin Ray while the Xbone has Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas, Globox Vaas and some exclusive challenge stages. PS4 gamers can use the DualShock 4’s trackpad to take screenshots or scratch the Lucky Ticket scratchcards and they can play the game on their Vita’s via remote access. If you’re trying to save hard-drive space, the install size from a disc for the PS4 version is 9GB compared to the Xbox One’s 4.3GB.

UK Games Charts | 31st August 2013

Rayman Legends finally hit shelves last week following that excruciating delay, and the results were well worth the wait. Indeed, Matt awarded it a perfect ten in our Rayman Legends review. The sensational platformer has made its debut in sixth place, but predictably didn't quite manage to unseat the likes of Saints Row IV and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Impressively, though, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has stormed into third, doubly notable because UKIE's charts currently doesn't include PC downloads yet... and the servers have been struggling to keep up with demand.

Two new entries didn't fare so well, with mundane Lost Planet 3 and divisive Killer Is Dead scraping the lower twenties.

Game of the Month | August 2013

The end of August saw what was possibly the most ridiculous fortnight of the year so far. We had a windfall of big-budget, outstanding titles from Saints Row IV to PayDay 2 to Disney Infinity to Rayman Legends. Oh, and Sam Fisher and Suda51 and a bunch of Sectoids showed up too. As did Platinum Games.

As such, this has been one of the toughest Game of the Month pieces to sort out. Not in terms of the outright winner, perhaps, but the runners-up have been hotly contested. And then there's all of the fantastic indie titles such as SteamWorld Dig and Papers, Please and Gone Home and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Shelter.

Here in the UK, we've actually had some sunshine this August. But thankfully, there were so many reasons for staying inside this month, safe from that massive cancerous ball of fire in the sky. Let's take a look at the best of them...

Runners-Up

Game of the Month | August 2013

Saints Row IV -- Saints Row IV might not be the game that the die-hard Saints Row 2 fans have hoped for, but neither is it the bundle of juvenalia that The Third became. Instead, Volition have taken the best of both worlds and forged a fantastically self-aware opus that proves phenomenally engrossing whether you're dipping into  it for a quick, cathartic blast after a long day or settling in for a few hours of extended gameplay.  It's wonderfully referential and surprisingly refined in its approach to mixing things up, it's frequently funny and provides a challenge consistently even when you fear you're about to become too powerful. But best of all, it's a whole damn heap of fun, whether alone or playing with a friend. 9/10
