Deus Ex: Mankind Divided delayed until August 2016

I'm currently using every fiber of my being to not quote Adam Jenson here, because if there was ever a time to do so, it's right now.

This afternoon Eidos Montreal announced that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been hit by a six-month delay, and will now release on August 23rd 2016. In an statement posted on the official Deus Ex website, studio head David Anfossi apologised to fans whilst explaining that it was necessary to ensure the game met the expectations of both the community and its creators.

The team at Red Thread Games had said the first part of the long-awaited sequel would arrive before November, but yesterday they announced via a developer vlog that Dreamfall Chapters Book One - Reborn would finally be released on October 21st. Kickstarter backers will receive a digital download version at that time, although a season pass will also be available at various online stores as well if you were heinous enough to not support it. It's okay. I'll forgive you in time.

That gives you three weeks to either buy and / or replay the original two games in the series, but if you don't have time for that you're in luck. Creative director Ragnar Tørnquist confirmed on twitter that the team are working on a recap for fans and newcomers alike ahead of the game's release, so everyone will understand who Brian Westhouse is, how a bird is the second greatest sidekick ever, and why even the most powerful villains should fear calculators.

In the meantime, if you wish to learn more about Dreamfall Chapters you can always check out our gameplay walkthrough from Gamescom, or check out our recent interview with Dag Scheve and Ragnar Tørnquist. We will of course bring you our thoughts on one of our most anticipated games of this year as soon as it's in our grubby mitts.

Online Retailers Hint At November PS Vita Launch, £40 Game RRP?

Sony's E3 press conference outed the PS Vita's RRP at £229.99 for the Wi-Fi model and £279 for the all-singing all-dancing 3G version... but as usual, the ever-vigilant online retailers have dropped some interesting hints about launch date and game pricing. According to ShopTo, the Vita is tentatively set for a November 4th release on British shores alongside a selection of 20 launch titles. These games currently carry an RRP of £39.99 each, which is the same as most premium releases but in line with the 3DS' £34-£39 price point. [via MCV]

However, Sony has dismissed the date as "just speculation," so we'll need to take this with a pinch of salt. It seems that "holiday season" is probably right on the money, though.

We'll keep you posted, but for now, why not check out our hands-on preview of Sony's upcoming handheld... and let us know whether you'd be willing to shell out forty quid for its games?

Modern Warfare 3 is leaking faster than Infinity Ward and Activision can advertise it. The full storyline and shedloads of assets have already been splashed across our pages - and Felix has cast his discerning eye over the evidence to check its veracity. Us journalists can smell blood in the water - and we're circling around Modern Warfare 3 like sharks.

Joining the fray, IGN has published a leaked poster from Australian "retail sources" that appears to confirm the November 8th release date. You can see the full thing below - and though we're still firmly in rumour country, we reckon that this date is probably right on the money. [IGN]

5th Cell Push Hybrid Back Into 2012

Last year, we brought you the surprising news that 5th Cell were working on a downloadable futuristic FPS called Hybrid rather than a follow-up to their popular Scribblenauts franchise. Apparently this new title went down well at the recent GDC -  but the studio has decided to push it back into 2012 in order to give them "an additional year" to "take what [they've] learned and really drill down on our ideas to hopefully transform this game into something great."

Fair enough. Hybrid details are still thin on the ground, with the only solid intel being that the two playable factions represent normal humans and mutated 'hybrids' known as Variants. We'll keep you posted. [IGN]

Devil May Cry reboot was a “no brainer” says Ninja Theory

dmc-dealspwn
While the initial shock of last month’s announcement of Ninja Theory’s reboot for Devil May Cry has now passed, it appears the topic is still in full flow and won’t subside with arguments on both sides over Dante’s makeover continuing to be voiced. Even series creator Hideki Kamiya recently weighed in on the subject. In response, Ninja Theory have confessed that they were told by Capcom to “go crazy” with the redesign in hopes of injecting something new into the franchise.

“I think with Devil May Cry, [the deal] was a great opportunity. It is a beloved franchise and for us it was a very good fit – it’s all about the things we love; high energy fighting and cool cinematic.” “It was also a project that wasn’t an original IP, which we’ve never tackled before. This deal was of course a no-brainer for us.” – Ninja Theory chief Nina Kristensen

With Enslaved released tomorrow there’s no doubt that more focus will be put on the reboot in the near future, whether you’re a fan of Dante’s new look or not. [VG247]

Super Mario All-Stars gets UK release date

super_mario_all_stars_dealspwn

Formaly a Japan-exclusive title, Super Mario All-Stars is a collection of the classic Mario games for the Wii that not only contains SMB 1, 2, 3 and the Lost Levels but comes with artwork and a soundtrack CD filled with music from the start of the franchise right up to the modern releases. However today Ninty have confirmed it will be arriving in the UK on 3 December, right in time for Christmas. Something tells me households up and down the country are going to be filled with the retro noise of collecting gold coins this December. [Official Nintendo Magazine]

Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta announced... with dedicated servers

gow3-dealspwn

Fans who were eagerly waiting for Epic’s next entry in the Gears series were dealt a blow recently with Gears of War 3 being pushed back from a rather specific April 2011 to a rather vague Holiday 2011. Fear not though, Microsoft has today announced multiplayer beta will take place before the release. At least you won't be waiting too long before you get to rev up the chainsaws on your lancer once more. However the interesting part of the news wasn’t necessarily the beta announcement; the multiplayer will be “featuring dedicated servers.” That’s right folks, we can finally look forward to less lag when curb-stomping your opponent. While no dates have been announced we’ll be sure to keep you posted. [Joystiq]
