It's probably nothing. It's almost certainly nothing.

But what if it isn't?

From Software's Project Beast looks Dark & Soulful

'Project Beast' is one of the most exciting phrases in Sony circles right now, seeing as the PS4-exclusive title is strongly rumoured to be a successor to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls developed by From Software themselves. Some avid fans have stiched together 'leaked' footage to produce a single contiguous clip, which definitely looks set to be dark, soulful and demonic in familiar ways - so long as the footage is actually on the up and up.

We're expecting a full E3 reveal, but frankly wouldn't hate for a little Armoured Core mech action to bleed into the mix too.

Remaster Chief: Halo 1-4 HD coming to Xbox One?

Start and finish the fight

Halo 5: Guardians is out next year, but Microsoft promise that the Xbox One "journey" starts later in 2014. As such we were expecting an 'Anniversary Edition' of Halo 2 to celebrate the tenth birthday of Bungie's sequel, yet a new report suggests that Microsoft are thinking significantly bigger.

Mass Effect Trilogy tipped for PS4 & Xbox One - but do we actually want it?

What the new generation of consoles really needs is loads of games we've already played to death.

That seems to be the general consensus at Big Publisher Incorporated, because yet another revamp appears to be on the cards. Rumblings suggest that the Mass Effect Trilogy is headed to PS4 and Xbox One, which begs the question: do we actually want or even need it?

Well... maybe. Perhaps BioWare will even have time to show us Tali's face, if they're not too busy raiding royalty-free image banks.

Borderlands 2 prequel is set on the moon and out this year, claims report

Hype-rion

Gearbox have strenuously denied that they're working on Borderlands 3 over these last few months, but an interesting new rumour alleges that they've actually outsourced a "pre-sequel" (ugh) to 2K Australia. Apparently we'll soon be scampering around Hyperion's moonbase, conserving oxygen and abusing the low gravity later this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Maybe. Though outlandish, the report definitely has the ring of truth to it.

Next-gen Assassin's Creed set during French Revolution, says leaked screenshots

Roll up, roll up, for a great big steaming pile of leaks fresh from the rumour mill. Kotaku, as per usual, have thrown an absolute sizzler onto the flames by revealing some leaked screenshots of what appears to be this year's Assassin's Creed game. Sources claim that Assassin's Creed: Unity (probably a working title) is set during the French revolution and features a retooled parkour system, starring an assassin called Arno.

GTA V PC Version Rumoured For Early 2014

Rumour: Battlefield 4 Map Names & Images Leak Online

Leveleaking?

Four of Battlefield 4's ten maps have already been announced, but we may now know what they're all called and roughly what they're themed around courtesy of an eagle-eyed NeoGAF poster. Placeholder map names and slim images were ostensibly posted on BattleLog, meaning that the exact titles may change before launch, but fans may well find the following leak very interesting indeed.

We've got it all after the break, via Videogamer.

RUMOUR | Xbox One To Release On November 8th, Before PS4?

According to one of the biggest rumours of this year, Microsoft are set to pip Sony to the post by releasing the Xbox One on November 8th - a week before the PlayStation 4 launches Stateside.

Is Ubisoft Teasing Beyond Good & Evil 2 E3 Reveal?

Interesting developments on Ubisoft's Facebook page, in the form of a suggestive banner starring porcine Beyond Good & Evil star Pey'J. The eternally-delayed sequel to the original cult classic has been under development and on hold for what feels like forever, so we hope that Ubisoft will be willing to give us official confirmation later today.

However, I should point out that Ubisoft also featured some Beyond Good & Evil trivia in their pre-E3 hype last year, so this is far from a smoking gun.

RUMOUR: Nintendo Phasing Out Basic 8GB Wii U? [UPDATE]

According to some lovely unverified sources, several retailers (including Gamestop) are removing the basic 8GB Wii U edition from their shelves ahead of Nintendo's E3 presentation. Kotaku alleges that the consoles are actually being recalled, perhaps hinting that a new hardware line could well be announced on June 11th.

UPDATE: Nintendo has denied that they'll be ditching the hardware in a statement to Eurogamer, suggesting that this move is probably a unilateral decision by Gamestop itself. Watch this space.

RUMOUR: Prey 2 Picked Up By Dishonored Devs?

Prey 2 blew us away at E3 2011, to the extent that we crowned Human Head's bounty-hunting sequel as the second best game of show (behind a certain BioShock Infinite). However, the project quickly fell off our radar, with suggestions that the developers had effectively gone on strike and left the freeform shooter up the proverbial creek.

New reports, however, allege that Prey 2 might finally be back on track... and in the hands of none other than Arkane Studios.
