Get a Wii U Premium console with Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon for £219.99

While we've seen cheaper Wii U premium bundles in the past, this is the lowest price for one that includes two of the best games for the system right now. With the best offer for both titles currently coming in at around £50 overall, it makes this particular bundle very tempting for those that have yet to get hold of one. Thanks to heartyparty @ HUKD!

UPDATED: Wii U Premium Bundle with Mario Kart 8 & Splatoon to arrive October 30th

Nintendo have announced that a brand new Premium bundle for the Wii U will be coming to Europe at the end of the month. Along with a Premium console, it will also include Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, making it a great place to start if you’ve yet to get hold of Ninty’s latest home console.

That said, there are a few issues. Firstly, the words “Limited offer” are used in the announcement, meaning we have no idea how many will be available or who will stock them. Secondly, no price is mentioned, although our educated guess puts a potential price between £250-300. Considering the next few months will be prime time for Nintendo to strike with some aggressive pricing, let’s hope they make it more affordable.

UPDATE: MCV are reporting that the bundle will be priced at £239.99. If that proves to be accurate, this could well be the best Wii U bundle to buy (provided you can get your hands on one.)

Splatoon is unmissable at this low price

Splatoon is a must-buy title for any Wii U owner, and unlike most first-party Ninty titles, there are some super cheap deals floating around since release. Like this one at just £18.14 which is the best price I've seen around these parts.

Only Nintendo could turn third-person shooter deathmatches in family-friendly fun. This shooter sees you aiming to paint more territory than the rival team with a variety of weapons. In a neat twist, you can also sneakily swim through any surface painted in your colour. New maps and weapons are appearing all the time in Splatoon, retro Nintendo fans really need to take a look at this to roll back the clock too.

Splatoon falls to its lowest price yet

While you could have got it fractionally cheaper with a (now expired) voucher code, this listing is the cheapest we've seen for Splatoon. It beats the next best price elsewhere by £6, which is a huge saving. In our review we said that Splatoon was "approachable for newcomers and enjoyable for old hands" thanks to its fresh approach to third person shooters. With new maps and matchmaking functionality added in recent months, it really has become an essential purchase for Wii U owners. Cheers to BuzzDuraband for the heads-up!

Splatoon Testfire event open to players who don't own the game

Nintendo are going beyond the usual demo by letting Wii U owners play online for a hour a day over the course of a week in their upcoming Testfire Summer Camp event. By downloading the demo client for their Wii U, players will be able to enjoy 4vs4 matches of Turf War and get an extended look at the game which has proved a big hit on the Wii U, even more so as time goes by and more content has been added.

Take a look at the Testfire dates and times here.

There's no excuses now, grab a Wii U basic console for only £124.99

We challenge anybody sat on the fence with the Nintendo Wii U to resist this beauty of an offer. At only £124.99 this is the lowest price we have seen the console available from a UK retailer (apart from the freak £99 flash offering from John Lewis last year).

Yoshi's Woolly World, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 and the upcoming Super Mario Maker are all games you really need to consider should you decide to make the correct decision and purchase this console.

Thanks for b_nar on HUKD for the tip off.

Splatoon drops to £20.89 at Go2Games

Splatoon blows third-person shooting wide open with its wildly unique mechanics and uninhibited sense of fun. Approachable for newcomers and enjoyable for old hands, it's an impressive Wii U exclusive, though we'll have to take Nintendo's promises of free DLC and updates on trust. Splatoon Review | Squid Free Or Dye Hard

Splatoon is excellent value at only £20.89. If you own a Wii U, you should definitely own Splatoon. Nintendo have kept on their promise of free DLC and content for the game, it just never seems to end with new weapon after new weapon added all the time.

Get Splatoon on Wii U for just £22

UPDATE: The Game Collection keep running out of stock. If you can't get a copy, you can buy Splatoon for £22.39 at Base!

Here's another one to add to the list of voucher code-based deals in The Game Collection's birthday celebrations, beating the cheapest price elsewhere by a few pounds. In our review we called Splatoon "fresh, messy, raucous and brilliant," and while it was lacking features and maps at launch Nintendo have released a steady stream of content since then. Basically, if you own a Wii U it's a hard to argue against the value at this price. Thanks to littlemonster2011 @ HUKD!

The Best Wii U & 3DS Games Of 2015 So Far

We're now halfway through 2015 and it's time to take stock of the year so far. No matter what systems you own and genres you're into, we've already had plenty of great games to get stuck into between January and June.

Yesterday we covered the best PS4 games of 2015. Today we're moving onto Nintendo, both in terms of the Wii U and 3DS, and looking back at six months of quality over quantity. We'll link to our reviews and the cheapest prices around when possible too.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

The Best Wii U & 3DS Games Of 2015 So Far

Let's start with the big one. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is probably the best game in the series and nothing less than an essential killer app.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is utterly magnificent. Newfound vertical freedom, extraordinary new monsters and native 3DS multiplayer makes for the best game in the series to date, coupled with a much more compelling storyline and some killer new features. - 10/10 review

Oh, and let's not forget the boatloads of awesome and completely free DLC delivered every month, from new quests to weapons and fan-favourite costumes!
