I haven't personally played Tales Of Graces f, but the series can always be relied upon to deliver gorgeous JRPGs with superb combat.

Brendan vouches for it in his 8/10 review, which praises the classic yet satisfying formula. For less than a tenner, saving an extra quid vs last week's 365Games deal, it has to be worth a go. Thanks again, BuzzDuraband!

Save £20 and grab Tales of Graces f for £10.99

Tales of Graces f is tremendous value for money at £10.99 and should keep you going for a while. With most sites still trying to sell the game for over £30, you can probably make your money back on eBay when you're done too.

The Tales of series has excelled on PS3, with a vibrant anime style and action-packed RPG gameplay making for a neat change of pace compared to the genre's usual turn-based battles. Have a look at Matt's review.

Tales of Graces f: Special Edition | £24.99 | GAME | PS3

Blink and you'll miss it: this excellent PS3 JRPG tends to pop in and out of stock at a moment's notice - especially at a saving. However, GAME are currently selling the special edition for just under £25, including the soundtrack, artbook and a "special folded box." Ambassador, with this special folded box, you are really spoiling us.

If you managed to blag Tales Of Graces f's Day One Edition for under twenty quid a few weeks back, you'd be forgiven for smirking. Stocks of Namco's impressive RPG sequel are already running low, but if you don't mind grabbing the standard edish, 365 Games are currently offering the best price around.

Just in case you didn't know, Tales Of Graces f is another fine JRPG, offering exciting real time combat and some engaging characters. More details in Matt's 8/10 review. Credit to BattleMoose87 at HotUKDeals, who found this deal before I did. Many thanks!

Tales of Graces f: Day 1 Edition | £19.95 | Zavvi | PS3

This is a tenner cheaper than the last time I posted a deal for this game. Somehow, Zavvi have managed to get in some extra stock of the Day 1 Edition, which includes an artbook, soundtrack and DLC. At some point soon, this game will disappear from main retailers and only be available on auction sites at a price considerably higher than this, so whether you want a fine RPG experience or a investment to sell on, I'd act fast.

Tales of Graces f Review | Series High Point Or Fall From Grace?

Platforms: PS3

Developers: Namco Tales Studio

Publishers: Namco Bandai

As a child, particularly when it comes to those troublesome teenage years, you often find yourself looking forward, wishing you were a little older so that you could have more fun. But the formative years of one's life are important, even if they could be construed as lacking the opportunities afforded to the young adult generation.

It's an outlook that sits at the heart of Tales of Graces f, a Western release of  (and considerable upgrade to) the Wii game that never quite made it out of Japan.  You spend the best part of five hours toddling about with eleven year old Asbel Lhant and his childhood friends, disobeying parents with headstrong abandon, getting into scrapes and scraps, and trying to work around the limitations that have been set upon you as the young, childish heir to a provincial seat.

Tales of Graces f Review | Series High Point Or Fall From Grace?

It's a ll a bit tedious at times, to be honest, but it's a hit that the Tales Studio take in order to further narrative immersion and impact later on in the story. You're constantly looking forward in those opening hours to a time when you'll be let off the leash (well, as much as you can be in a relatively linear JRPG), and if you can make it through Asbel - the childhood years, you're in for a treat later on.

Of course, many won't. It's nowhere near as frustratingly obtuse as FFXIII, and the combat system (we'll get to it) is far more engaging, but there are some towering cliches that will no doubt put of those who managed to make it through the cloying intro music video. There are classic character tropes such as the dethroned monarch, an idealistic hero and his underappreciated brother, a magical female powerhouse in the form of an amnesiac 14 year old, and a loud, kooky charming/irritating genki girl.

With most Tales games often not seeing a European release, they're snapped up sharpish when they do make it over, so don't miss out on this rarity. This special edition comes with artbook, soundtrack, and a few pieces of DLC. If you enjoy trading on ebay this is well worth picking up as it's bound to increase in value over the coming months and years. Or, if you'd actually like to play the thing, you'll find a brightly designed action RPG that gives Studio Ghibli's Ni No Kuni an early run for its money.

Tales Of Graces f Hands-On Preview | Easy Company

Platform: PS3

Developers: Namco Tales Studio

Publishers: Namco Bandai

The traditional JRPG has fallen relatively far from grace when it comes to Western opinion on the matter, as shades of momentous games from ages past dribble out of Japan to wend their way across continents, only to be met with disappointment and unfavourable comparisons.

But in many ways, the JRPG is a genre beset by critical contradictions. There seems to be a constant urge from Western audiences and their cultural arbiters for modernisation - cries for refreshed formulae, new gameplay mechanics, and an acknowledgement that time has moved on since the 90s heyday of the genre. Of course, such experimentation is then met with bafflement and comparisons to those pillars of the past from whose shadows these current-gen JRPGs are supposedly trying to escape.

Tales Of Graces f Hands-On Preview | Easy Company

The latest instalment of the Tales series might not seem to elevate itself above the pack at first. Having played through the first three hours at Namco Bandai HQ, a sceptic could be forgiven for letting out a slight groan at first. The game kicks off in the company of young Asbel Lhant - heir to the estate of that same name, and a headstrong pain in his father's backside. A rebellious youth and a truant, with a nose for danger and disobeying his parents, he forms the central point of focus in a group of childhood friends that includes his little brother Hubert, barely concealed love interest Cheria, and a striking amnesiac whom Asbel finds out on the cliffs one day.

There's plenty to be happy about if you're a JRPG fan too, with Tales of Graces F coming this August, though we;ll have to be a bit patient for Ni No Kuni, which is slated for early next year.

Jon will be catching up with all that Namco have to offer at E3 this year, and we'll have an Inversion preview tonight, and first looks at the two JRPGs next week.
