There's no excuse to not own Uncharted 3: GOTY Edition for £5.86

Pick up Uncharted 3: Game of the Year Edition for just £5.86. Go on, it'd be rude not to.

Naughty Dog's Uncharted series is one of the best brands seen on the PS3 and their last game packed in more thrills than two summers of cinema blockbusters. The Game of the Year edition includes the paid DLC for multiplayer and co-op stages, both of which are way more fun than they ought to be considering the series is mainly known for its excellent single-player campaigns. Great action, plot, visuals and characters make this an essential package for any gamer. Thanks, Turkey!

Uncharted 3 and Faster Blu-ray double pack only £3

Uncharted 3 for a measly £3 is already an incredible deal for one of the PS3's finest games, but this deal is even sweeter with the addition of a copy of Faster on Blu-ray. The pack is pre-owned, but with plenty of stores nationwide, you can purchase with confidence. The movie stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and from what I remember, it was worth a watch for any action fans out there. At the end of the day though, it's no Welcome to the Jungle.

Uncharted 3: GOTY Edition | Simply Games eBay Outlet | £7.99
Price Comparison | Review

Simply Games' eBay outlet is currently rocking Drake's third adventure for just under £8. Uncharted 3 is a cracking game, a must buy for any PS3 owner frankly, and the Game of the Year edition includes the paid DLC for multiplayer and co-op stages. I believe you can still nab Uncharted 3 free if you've got PS+ but if you haven't, or if you want the complete package, this is the cheapest it's been thus far.

Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Goes Free-to-Play This Week

Naughty Dog and Sony have announced that Uncharted 3's multiplayer portion is going free-to-play from today, giving players who've not yet bought  the game to jump online and muck about with their chums.

The F2P version, downloadable from the Playstation Store, will be capped, however, at level 15. If you want to move beyond that you'll have to cough up some dough, but doing so will give you the opportunity to unlock further content.

Uncharted 3 is a cracking game that delivers even bigger setpieces, more high-octane adventuring, and wittier banter than ever before. PSN Store Update | Got Plus? Get On Starhawk

This week's PlayStation store update has brought a whole mess of content, and PSN Plus subscribers are set to have a seriously great day. The Starhawk beta is now live, Arc The Lad is free for a month and Crazy Taxi has a 75% discount. Sorted.

If you're not a PS Plus member, a number of minis have had their prices slashed, including Cubixx HD and Stellar Attack Mini. The PSN January sale is also continuing, with deals for the outstanding Dungeon Defenders and BloodRayne: Betrayal. We're waiting for more details on that front.

In terms of DLC, the main event is Uncharted 3's first flashback map pack which is imaginatively entitled Flashback Map Pack #1. Stirling work there, chaps. The free CheapyD DLC has also arrived for Saints Row 3, along with some new cars for GT5. Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning has also received its demo, which unlocks in-game items both for Big Huge Games' upcoming RPG and Mass Effect 3.

As always, we've got the full update below the break (with all those pesky rating and file size details edited out), or head over to the PS Blog if you want the official scoop.

Nolan North: Ubisoft Follow Naughty Dog's Example For Mo-Cap With Assassin's Creed

Nolan North recently expressed huge admiration for the way Naughty Dog have conducted their motion capture and approach to voice acting, having actors record their lines on a sound stage whilst acting out scenes for full mo-cap. It's an approach which North suggests Ubisoft might be wise to adopt for Assassin's Creed.

First Major Uncharted 3 DLC Confirmed: Flashback Map Pack #1

Naughty Dog have blown the lid off the first Uncharted 3 DLC pack. Flashback Map Pack #1 will be a collection of multiplayer levels from previous Uncharted games, and will naturally be free to members of the Fortune Hunters Club. More details will be forthcoming over the next few days, but the two screenshots linked above give us a quick glimpse into what we can expect. The "#1" suffix heavily implies that more recycled maps will also be on the cards.

As stated back in October, Naughty Dog won't be releasing any singleplayer DLC.

In other news, a selection of Killzone-themed multiplayer skins are now available for roughly $1.49 or free to Fortune Hunters.

UK Games Charts | 7th November 2011

Nathan Drake is a capable chap who gets results but not even he could topple Battlefield 3 from its pretty perch atop the sales charts this week. Elsewhere, FIFA 12 is still going strong, staying in third position, with Just Dance 3, Zumba Fitness and Skylanders all retaining their positions from last week too. Sonic sneaks into the top ten, with the HD version of Goldeneye: Reloaded debuting at 16.

Of course, the big question will be if EA can hold onto their top spot next week with Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim both launching within the next seven days.

Naughty Dog Defends Uncharted 3 Shooting Mechanics

"Guns Fire In A Completely Different Way"

Uncharted 3 is an incredible achievement, and Matt rightfully ladled hot dollops of critical praise all over it in yesterday's full review. However, weapon handling has always been an niggling issue with the series - and we weren't the only ones to point it out. The Naughty Dog forums are overflowing with complaints about the inaccurate aiming, so community manager Arne Meyer has spoken out to defend the mechanics and explain what's changed in painstaking detail.

Apparently, the new feel of the ranged combat is down to a number of purposely-implemented factors, which include the faster pace of the enemies as well as higher sensitivity. More after the break.

Naughty Dog Talk Uncharted 4

"There's A Ton Of Nathan Drake Adventures Out There"

We're not far from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception now, with the third Nathan Drake adventure set for release next week. However, while work at Naughty Dog has no doubt dialed down, the studio is already thinking ahead to what should come next. And according to game director Justin Richmond, Naughty Dog already have some ideas in mind.

Uncharted 3 Hands-On Preview | Totally Ubar

Lawrence of Arabia eat your heart out, good old Nathan is back and his latest adventure once again has him teaming up with a few familiar faces to uncover the fabled Atlantis of the Sands, or Ubar as it's alternatively known. 'Supposedly [Ubar] was lost to the desert, but it held immeasurable wealth, the rumours being that the city was destroyed by God because of its arrogance,' explains Uncharted 3's game director Justin Richmond, talking about the story behind Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. 'So Drake is very interested, obviously, by the immeasurable wealth and the archeological mystery of this place  T.E. Lawrence always said that if he ever went back to the Middle East, he'd go looking for this lost city.'

Naughty Dog have made the familial connection with Drake's famous ancestor too, though, imagining the reasons behind Sir Francis' delay in returning from the Americas, with the story suggesting that he took so long to get home because he was searching for Ubar. 'It took Sir Francis Drake six months to cross the Indian Ocean and, for a sailor of his stature, it should have taken more like thirty days,' says Richmond. 'So we said what if he actually went to the Arabian Peninsular and went looking for this place.'

Uncharted 3 Hands-On Preview | Totally Ubar

Of course, that's not the only thing that the developers have been focusing on with this one, with community strategist Arne Meyer pointing out that this third tale also focuses more heavily on the relation, or 'bromance', between Drake and Sully, his grizzled mentor. 'Sully's been a big fan favourite, so we knew we wanted to focus more on his relationship with Drake for this game,' says Meyer. 'Sully's been Drake's father figure, mentor and partner for a long time, and we took a lot of inspiration from buddy-movies for this one, to try and get the relationship or "bromance" right. Victor Sullivan's kind of been both saviour and corrupter to Drake, with the two of them operating on the fringes of legality, and in many ways he represents what Drake could become if he makes the same choices.'

Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Hands-On Preview

This was familiar turf for players of the recent multiplayer beta, with some local matches over a LAN connection bringing Manchester PlayStation Access attendees together before encouraging them to pull each other off ledges.

Uncharted 2 surprised everyone by making a fine first effort with the multiplayer and U3 looks set to surpass it easily with its dosage of cinematic sequences and power plays where a team is given a temporary stat boost. Today we played around on a few maps new maps with team deathmatches being the game of choice. One map was set in a desert village, similar to that seen in the recent single-player footage. There were lots of close alleys with corners and walls to hide behind, making for a fast-paced match where itchy trigger fingers and sharp melee skills proved most lethal. The climbing was brilliant here too as it can be used to perform grab kills to pull opponents over a ledge. It’s uber-slick and will probably cost us many lives in the pursuit of enjoyment over a decent kill/death ratio, as it does leave you vulnerable to being swatting off the wall in a hail of gunfire.
