New DriveClub update includes free car, level cap, rewards & more

DriveClub's latest free update adds a slew of features and fixes. You can now reach Driver Level 55, obtaining brand new rewards on the way, while the shiny Citroen DS Survolt concept car will be arriving soon via a free download. You can also expect new interface options, driver images, stats, DLC support and ongoing improvements to eventually add private multiplayer lobbies.

We've got the patch notes after the break.

Evolution are still beefing up the servers to finally roll out the free PlayStation Plus version, but seeing as you can buy DriveClub for just £11.99 (pre-owned), it's hardly going to break the bank.

Super Smash Bros For Wii U gets 15 new 8-player stages in free update

Nintendo has added fifteen new 8-player stages to Super Smash Bros For Wii U by way of a new update, allowing you more opportunities to experience a mode I described as "brilliantly, wonderfully, magnificently stupid" in our full review.

"Good luck fitting everyone into the safe zone on Norfair," taunts the Facebook page. Naturally the patch adapts existing stages rather than bolting on completely new levels, but it's still a welcome inclusion.

So how much does this update cost? £4.99? £15,99? Nah, it's free. Get on it. I feel the sniffles coming on, so will probably have to knock off early -- while seven of my friends will probably have to pop by to keep me company [invite me or you're fired, Jon - Ed]

You can pick up Super Smash Bros For Wii U for only £32.99 new at Grainger Games. Click here to buy >>

Xbox One preview firmware still causing disc errors, but fixes are forthcoming

Xbox One's preview programme allows console owners to get to grips with major firmware updates ahead of time, enjoying new functionality and tweaks weeks before they're officially deployed... but as with any beta there are always risks. Numerous participants have reported several worrying disc drive errors over the last fortnight, as a result of installing April's offering.

Luckily Microsoft have taken feedback on board and promise to squash these bugs in the official release, and the workaround reads like a scene from the IT Crowd.

Don't panic: your Xbox One hasn't died, it's just an update

A few people might come back from work today, say "Xbox On" and discover that absolutely nothing happens. They'll try again, and again, slowly realising that their new console simply isn't listening to their commands, before reacting accordingly.

However, there's no need to panic, because your console has just automatically downloaded a firmware update before powering down. They can do that in standby mode. As such, you'll need to switch it on manually then wait for it to apply - if you can remember how since Kinect really has spoiled us over this last few weeks.

So what's in the update? Find out after the break.

Spoiler alert: pretty much sod all >>

Guild Wars 2: Tequatl Gets Serious In Today's Update

Tequatl The Sunless has been getting increasingly annoyed by Guild Wars 2 players kicking his sorry undead posterior and stealing his stuff every day, so has decided to up the ante. Today's update, Tequatl Rising, powers him up with an arsenal of new abilities and a retooled event that will require an "army of players" to beat.

Challenge accepted. Tequatl Rising also adds a new LFG tool and some more World vs World tweaks to ArenaNet's MMO, which we've corralled after the break along with a trailer.
