Get Metal Gear Solid V on PS4 / Xbox One for just £21.99

We've seen some cheaper deals in recent weeks, but this is the best price around for the current-gen versions at the time of writing. Did The Phantom Pain deliver a satisfying conclusion to the MGS saga? Not really, but as a stealth sandbox it was an amazing achievement. With Metal Gear Online now available as well (although access to the servers has been... temperamental) this could be the right time to get hold of a copy. Thanks to oUkTuRkEyIII @ HUKD!

WWE 2K16 on PS4 / Xbox One is once again just £29.99

Here's another chance to get the latest wrasslin' game for £30, beating the next best price on current-gen systems by a fiver. Included with the purchase is the ability to add the Terminator (no, you read that correctly) to the roster of available wrestlers. There's been some positive noise from this year's edition thanks to changes to the AI and reversal systems, although it comes at the price of inconsistent visuals. That said, you can also play through Stone Cold Steve Austin's career, so you'll probably be too busy raising some hell to care. Thanks to daddyblake @ HUKD!

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is a bargain at £16.99 on PS4/XO

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition has held its value incredibly well since release. It's rarely seen under £20, so this £16.99 deal is rather special.

I'm 70 hours in and yet to get bored with Diablo III on PS4. It's the co-op that's really pulled me in, I can't think of a game that I've played more in couch co-op since Street of Rage 2. With controls perfectly mapped to the controller, this was well worth the wait on consoles and is regularly patched with updates and tweaks that make it worth coming back to time and time again.

Get a new copy of Watch Dogs on XO for £5

For all our mixed feelings about Watch Dogs, we can't deny it's worth a look. And at just £5 for a NEW Xbox One copy, you'll have a lot of fun. Act fast, as this is another Lightning Deal offer.

For the length of Watch Dogs' story, the unique hacking opportunities will keep you hooked, as there’s nothing else quite like it out there. But outside of the hacking, police chases go on too long, side-missions feel repetitive, the audio diaries or home hacks aren’t that interesting and never try to form a bigger picture of the story a la Assassin’s Creed’s extras. It’s a shame, as the game undoubtedly breaks new ground with the hacking opportunities both behind the wheel or when sneaking around on foot. Much like the first Assassin’s Creed, the game has struggled with its own hype, but as history shows, Ubisoft are more than capable of turning this into an essential series if they can make the world and the gameplay around the hacking more interesting too.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate on PS4 / Xbox One is once again just £22.99

Here's another chance to get hold of the Special Edition for £23 if you missed last week's offer. You'll get an hours worth of extra missions with the Special Edition, although that's a drop in the ocean considering how much else there is to do. We called Syndicate a return to form for the Assassin's Creed series in our review, thanks to its back-to-basics approach and the exceptional world building of its Victorian-era London. Plus, you know, you get to hit people with a sword cane whilst wearing a top hat. That right there is worth the price of admission. Thanks to oUkTuRkEyIII @ HUKD!

Halo 5 with long shot assault rifle DLC for £27.85

Wait, what? Under £30 already? There's a long-shot assault rifle for multiplayer bundled in too. With Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars: Battlefront breathing down Halo 5's neck, it makes sense that retailers start to chip away at the price for Master Chief's latest outing. That's great news if you've not bought the game yet, as this is easily the lowest price we've seen so far.

That's an absurdly cheap price so soon after launch. We'd understand more if there had been a glut of scathing reviews or serious issues with the multiplayer, but there haven't. Actually, let's not overthink it and just enjoy the discount.

Don't miss Metro Redux for £12 on PS4/XO

Metro Redux offers great value for money by giving two fantastic last-gen shooters a loving remaster and more as listed below. This is a great excuse to catch up on the series, especially for PS3 owners that may have missed out when the first game only visited the 360. PS4 owners can get a new copy for just £11.99. You can get it for £12 elsewhere on Xbox One.

More than just a visual facelift for the series, Metro Redux has put some extra effort in to tempt a spend. Metro 2033 has extra animations (such as the mask wipe from the sequel) and the weapon handling has been reworked too. Both games are now playable in Ranger and Survival modes too for a harsher challenge. All the Season Pass content for Last Light is included, adding an extra ten hours of single player content. This is well worth a look if you missed out on the games last gen.

Transformers: Devastation £19 (PS4/XO) or £13 (PS3/360)

With so much competition around at this time of year, Transformers: Devastation has seen some rapid discounting since release. Act fast and you could grab a copy for just £18.99 on PS4 or Xbox One.

Or if you're still rocking last-gen, you can save £6.

This is a far cry from the terrible direct movie tie-ins, especially as Platinum Games, the team behind Bayonetta, have developed it. The levels themselves are a little bland and the campaign only lasts about four hours, but the combat is certainly a lot of fun.

Fallout 4 only £29.99 on PS4 and Xbox One

About £30 seems to be the sticking point for Fallout 4 this side of Christmas, so this may be the time to bite. Game are the cheapest today by a few quid on PS4 and Xbox One.

Be sure to take a look at Carl's extensive Fallout 4 review while you're here. Here's the short version: While there may be bugs, and some mechanics not clearly explained, it’s hard not to be in awe of the extensive open world Bethesda have created with the Commonwealth. Streamlined progression, an improved narrative, and extensive customisation make Fallout 4 a serious contender to the RPG throne.

Get Gears of War Ultimate Edition on Xbox One for just £13.96

By grabbing the voucher code above you save a few pennies compared to the £15 deals elsewhere, as well as getting your code almost instantly after the order is put through. While we're a little disappointed that only the first instalment will be given the remaster treatment (the rest are available via Backwards Compatibility) the slick visual makeover and smooth multiplayer makes the Ultimate Edition excellent remake of what we'd consider to be the best game in the series (mainly because of the Cole Train's rap.) Dragon Ball Xenoverse only £22.99 on PS4/XO

This deal for Dragon Ball Xenoverse is the cheapest we've seen for the new-gen versions. Most outlets are charging closer to £30 today.

Jon called Dragon Ball Xenoverse, "A Brave Next Step For Anime Videogames" in his review, praising the combat, the deep story and the wealth of content available. The bar has been raised for anime tie-ins. No pressure, Attack on Titan.

Alien: Isolation only £9.99 on PS4/XO

Alien: Isolation Ripley Edition is super cheap today on PS4 for just £9,99. You can get the Nostromo Edition for the same price on Xbox One.

Alien: Isolation has been a big success. The pulse rifles and dodgy AI have been ditched for a pure survival horror experience that sees you constantly fleeing from the alien by hiding under tables or in lockers and so on. Sure, it can get a little repetitive, but this is till the best Aliens game in years.

Lego Movie Video Game only £14 on PS4/XO

For some reason, the Lego Movie Videogame is taking much longer to drop in price than the usual tie-ins. If you can't wait any longer, you can snap up a copy for £14 today on PS4 and Xbox One.

Ok, one more Lego game for your collecting fix, because we know you'll be jonesing by the time you've finished the Dimensions, Batman, Hobbit and Marvel titles. The film was a huge success in cinemas, so chances are your little ones are going to enjoy the game too. Expect another phoned in effort from Traveller's Tales, but fans of the film should enjoy it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider £32.85 on Xbox One

You can now get a new copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider for just £32.85. We've seen it go for closer to £30 lately, but if you're Xmas shopping, this might be one of the better prices you'll get before the delivery cutoff.

Lara's latest adventure is another fantastic entry in the series. The world is bigger than the last game too and there are many more optional tombs to explore. The story is pretty poor, but there's no faulting the action as you're generally free to approach combat with all guns blazing, or opt for a stealthier approach.

UPDATED: Assassin's Creed Syndicate Special Edition on PS4 / Xbox One falls to £22.99

UPDATE: An even cheaper listing has appeared, so we've updated our post with the new price. Cheers for Buzz for the heads-up!

It's one of the cheapest prices we've seen for the console version, and at the time of writing these Special Edition listings works out cheaper than the best offers for a standard copy. You'll get an hours worth of extra missions with the Special Edition, although that's a drop in the ocean considering how much else there is to do. Get Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition on PS4 / Xbox One for £27.99

With most other listings being over £30 at the moment, it makes these listings for The Taken King on current-gen consoles worthy of a highlight. As we point out in the review, The Taken King does enough to bring Destiny back on course thanks to a streamlined progression system and renewed focus on story. While newcomers will get the most value out of this (as the base game is included) former players will find this the right time to rejoin the fight as well. Thanks to Iqs @ HUKD!

DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition on PS4 / Xbox One falls to £12.99

Here's one of the lowest prices we've seen for the Definitive Edition on console, beating the next best offers elsewhere by a few pounds. Better performance and additional DLC make this a worthwhile pick up if you're after a fast-paced and satisfying brawler. The high level of replayability doesn't hurt either, so long as you can stomach the issues with the campaign's pacing. Thanks to oUkTuRkEyIII @ HUKD!

UPDATE: Just Cause 3 £33.84 on Xbox One and PS4

[UPDATE: Looks like ShopTo have put it back up to full price again. Do not spend £40 on this. You can get it for £33.84 via GameSeek]

The Xbox One version of Just Cause 3 has received a major discount over at ShopTo. Of all the formats, the XO version is the poorest thanks to a stuttery frame-rate and excessive loading times. But in all honesty, the PS4 version isn't that much better. At this price though, it might be worth diving in.

I've reviewed the XO version of Just Cause 3, here's my short version: Long load times, sluggish frame-rate and awful shooting would usually be the end of an action game. Just Cause 3 just about gets away with it though thanks to the hugely open approach to carnage with the likes of grappling hooks, parachutes, wingsuits, rocket launchers, infinite C4, tanks, choppers and the freedom to do whatever you want with them.

Thanks to SimonWicks.
