Zone of the Enders HD Collection only £4.95 on X360

With most sites selling Zone of the Enders HD Collection for a tenner, GC's £4.95 deal is a steal.

The Zone of the Enders series still stands as the pinnacle of mech-gaming around here and is essential at this price. Hideo Kojima's second most famous series has been begging for a sequel for years, but given the state of affairs between himself and Konami these days, this might be the end of the series. Don't let it fade into memory.

Zone of the Enders HD Collection isn't out over here yet. This becomes crushingly obvious in the moments immediately following due viewing of the new launch trailer when, filled with a sense of longing and yearning, you take to the interwebs or streets to immediately order a copy.

It is out now in the US though, though, with reports pointing towards a vague November release for the compilation over here. While you wait, we suggest watching the trailer on loop. There's even some Revengeance stuff thrown in for good measure, as the Collection will feature a demo for the Raiden-focused slice-'em-up.

Zone Of The Enders Collector's Edition Revealed

Mech Way For New Screenshots

Awful pun aside, Zone Of The Enders HD is looking thoroughly gorgeous - as evidenced by nearly a dozen new screengrabs. Konami has also announced that a collector's edition will be available, containing the game, soundtrack, a 100-page art book packaged in a big yellow box. You can gawp at some beauty shots after the break.

Zone Of The Enders HD is dated for October 30th in the States, but Konami still haven't locked it down for Europe. Several retailers expect a January 2013 launch.

Kojima Started Developing ZOE 3, Plans To Finish It

Zone Of The Enders HD Confirmed For Early-Mid 2012

Zone Of The Enders fans had their hopes dashed in terms of a full ZOE 3 reveal during Hideo Kojima's TGS keynote, but interestingly, the legendary developer did drop a few details about the long-awaited vapourware sequel. Apparently he actually started developing the title at one point, and fully reiterates that he plans to remake a "sequel to Anubis" (which was known as Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner in Europe). Apparently, the crowd was so large and excitable that Kojima promised to go and talk to his production team immediately to get the plan in motion. We'll have to wait and see, but he certainly did mention 'mechs' during a mysterious twitter update earlier this year...

The Zone Of The Enders HD Collection has also been dated for early-to-mid 2012 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita. Naturally we'll tie it down as soon as possible. [via Andriasang]

Metal Gear Solid 3D In Early 2012

Kojima To "Discuss" A New Zone of the Enders Game

With all the hubbub surrounding the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection this past week, we've all sort of forgotten about its 3D counterpart on Nintendo's portable. Snake Eater is being remastered and remodeled for release on the 3DS, and at the Tokyo Game Show creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed the game has been delayed from a late 2011 release to early 2012, probably due to the clogged Winter schedule.

Furthermore, Kojima revealed that such was the reception to his address at TGS, he will return to Konami and discuss a new Zone of the Enders game with the brass. While I'm excited to hear this, it also makes me a little sad, as it all but confirms a new Zone of the Enders game isn't in development, as has been rumored for almost a year now. [Eurogamer]

Zone_of_the_Enders_-_The_2nd_Runner

We're all giddy with excitement for the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders Collections here at Dealspwn. Having been huge fans of the originals, the idea of playing them on the big screen - in HD, no less - is a mouthwatering proposition. But if you're shelves are already fit to burst with retro titles, fret not; as Konami have revealed both collections will be released on the Playstation Network and Xbox LIVE, should you prefer a digital release over a boxed copy.

It's unclear quite how big both collections will be. On PS3, I'm sure Konami will have no trouble fitting either bungle on a single blu-ray disc. However, they might encounter more trouble squeezing it onto the Xbox 360's smaller DVD format. The Metal Gear Solid Collection includes Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater and Peace Walker, whereas the Zone of the Enders Collection features both the original title and its sequel, The 2nd Runner. Having already brought us the God of War Collection, developers Bluepoint have once again been enlisted to help bring a classic franchise back to HD life. Hard at work on the just-announced Metal Gear Solid Collection, Bluepoint's HD port is no mere "emulation", offering a play-feel that is "completely new", according to series' creator, Hideo Kojima.
